Mortality
The curse of one's own image
Slowly fading, fallen ill
Reputations may last a lifetime,
but ones own mortality will prevail.

How long this life may last
uncertain as a rotten foundation.
One minute, all is right with the world,
the next, ones gone into the setting sun.

Take advantage of these days so sparse
Afflicted with trouble, moments of joy
In the end, all will be forgotten,
thus, the mortality of men.
