Adrift
Black tie garment, silver
tray
Diamonds gleam a
color ray
Applause a shout, a
million cries
Accomplishing what no
one tries…
Or cares to hear, or
see or sense
A mindless prose of decadence
Recite for once what no one
claims
Effortless, that none defame
A silent moment,
heard by none
A soulless room, where all
have gone
And yet they clap and cheer on
end
A paradox, what can it rend?
The light gleams on,
the moment comes
Accept a prize that none
should earn
The meek inherit all the earth
The strong have yet to given
birth
“Thank you all for
what I hold”
Inside, one dies, not having
told
To be applauded for having
shared
Such rapid death to all who
care
Adrift in a nameless
sea
Entail a gift of faceless past
Grasping on when no one knows
Who we care to be
