The Askani'Son is always there for those who need him. Many times those involved don't even realize all that Nathan has done, all that he's sacrificed for their well being. This page is dedicated to a Dear Friend that has been there for me and I'm lucky enough to realize it and to know all that they have for me. This page is dedicated to "The Lord Askani" Many Thanks and G'Journey to you, My Friend.
Nathan Dayspring. The reluctant messiah. Not so much born into the world as he was thrust into it--as well as into his role of savior to both homo superior and homo sapien. Though an orphan, he was raised by units capable of instructing him to employ his telekinetic powers to hold his techno-organically disease-ravaged body together by sheer force of will.
Ironically, his handicap may be a boon to the very world he may one day be called upon to rescue, for deep within the heart and mind of the Askani'Son is power absolute--the ability to unlock stars, to hurl planets out of orbit solely by the strength of his mind, to reshape reality to his vision.
Were he allowed complete access to his potential, he'd have more than enough power to free the world from the rule of Apocalypse forever...but also, a more frightening thought...to dwarf the same.
The Askani'Son. He is either our last hope...
...or the end of all hope.
No one knows why she came to walk among us...to lead an entire world from the depths of despair to the threshold of faith in a better tomorrow.
No one knows where she drew the strength to challenge the Genetic Overlord called Apocalypse at a time when it seemed he was but a gesture away from ending all life which offended his creed of survival of the fittest.
But there were the whispers...Whispers that she came from another time and place when hope walked the land and beat within the heart of strong and weak alike. Whispers that she knew the day would come when a child would be delivered among the masses--a child that would grow into the man capable of releasing both homo sapien and homo superior from the grip of Apocalypse. A man who was at once her brother, her "son" and her savior.
A man who would be called the Askani'Son.
It all began with a whisper.
And the word was "Askani'"
Outsider.
From lip to ear and heart to heart, canyons long ago carved by death and despair began to silently echo with the stories of a young woman who stood alone.
Bathed in the glow of a flaming bird, she sought to cleanse a landscape long painted with the blood of those who had fell before En Sabur Nur, she fought to pry freedom from the iron fist of this genetic overlord who was also called Apocalypse.
Soon she gathered others around her. Women with the ability to open their minds to her training...a psionic gathering dedicated to the arrival of a singular sacred entity capable of ending Apocalypse's centuries-old reign of terror. A Sisterhood capable of traversing time and space, bound by the yet undisputable axiom "What is...is."
While the Mother Askani no longer walks among us, she is here nonetheless.
Now and forever, until the final battle.
"What is...is"
These three words are at once the philosophy of the Clan Askani' and their battle cry against the machinations of Apocalypse.
Philosophy, because a gifted few of this sisterhood have learned to access the minds of others--to traverse time and space, at great and final sacrifice to themselves, putting at colossal risk the gossamer tapestry that is reality. For those who travel then and back, and back and there, they must understand that they tarry forth in order to re-establish equilibrium, rather than to erode the raging river that is time.
Battle cry, because they reject Apocalypse's doctrine of survival of the fittest. What "is" is the precept that all life is created equal--that sentient beings have a responsibility to share and protect and nurture each other. Diversity is something to be celebrated, not vilified. Our differences may be the one thing humans and mutants share...a reason for coming together, not for tearing asunder.
Such is the way of the Askani'
His name is lost to time--a living sacrifice to destiny.
His life and breath and soul he gave willingly to an unrequited love, the woman who became the Mother Askani' and all she ever stood for. His past and present and future dedicated to the Askani'Son.
The only male to ever learn the ways of the Sisterhood of the Askani' he paid the ultimate price for this knowledge. Yet he willingly twisted and corrupted his mortal form because he understood it was necessary.
The Mother Askani' spoke of a need for a vanguard against "the Fall"--the time when the Askani'Son might tumble from the highest spires of his place in the universe, unto the depths of the eternal abyss which is absolute power. If that were ever to happen, there would be a need of someone capable of bringing together all the forces needed to protect our unsuspecting world.
And this man would be called Blaquesmith.
