Note from both:  As we read over this story, we have become 
progressively suspicious that our water was drugged (as a part of a 
covert government conspiracy that reaches down to every man, woman, and 
child on this planet) when we originally wrote this.  But  we have 
revised it in the hopes that it might no longer be so excrutiating to 
read.  Let’s just hope we made it in time.  <g>

This section is dedicated to Jane, because when we origanally wrote 
this, we were hostile because we wanted her to finish her series Be 
Careful What You Wish For, Lieutenants.  We ran after her brandishing 
bat’leths, so we decided she deserved to have this part dedicated to 
her.:)  Her you go, Jane.

	Chakotay glared at Q.  “No.   We’ll find some other way to get B’Elanna 
and the others back.”
	“Commander, unless you play by my rules, you lose.” Q sneered.
	“If I did agree to your . . . proposition, would you ensure that 
B’Elanna and anyone else who was taken would be returned unharmed?  
Would you also get rid of this Borg cube?”Janeway interrupted.
	“Oh, by all means, Kathryn!” Q replied.   
	“Kathryn . . . Captain, you can’t  do this!” Chakotay hissed.
	“Chakotay, it seems to be the safest way out of our problem.”
	“No, Kathryn, it’s not the safest, it’s the easiest.  How do you know 
he won’t take you to the Continuum again, or zap you somewhere else?” 
the commander replied with great intensity.  
	“Chakotay, this is my choice.  There’s no need for you to get more 
involved then you already are.  I don’t want him to do something to 
you.”  Janeway rasped.
	“Captain, you have my word!” interrupted Q.
	“All the more reason not to trust you,” Tom muttered.  
	Janeway stepped forward.  “Q, if I agree to your rules, will you keep 
your promise?”  
	“Oh, by all means, Kathryn!” Q replied.
	Kathryn stepped forward, bracing herself for what was to come.
