Q-Pid’s Arrow 1/4 by Caitlin (Dana) and Spooky (ST:V, G, J/C) Disclaimer: Until Hallmark comes out with collector’s ornaments for all Voyager’s characters and we can buy them for ourselves, Paramount and Viacom own them. Spooky and Dana (Caitlin) own the story, so don’t try to steal it (though why you would want to is beyond is.;-) Authors Notes: We wrote this about a year ago. We read over this recently and thought: Spooky’s version *Boy, this sucks.* Caitlin’s version: *Oy veh.* So, we pretty much . . . well . . . changed the entire story, except maybe for the plot. . . but it was hopeless. After you waste your time on this (our first and worst effort at something vaguely like a story), please don’t sue us for mental degradation. This story is dedicated to Zaphod, just cause we like ‘im. ** “Captain’s Log: Stardate 101367.3. This past week was uneventful. We have encountered no M-Class planets, no nebulas, and no ships in the area.” Captain Kathryn Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager, finished her log entry. She sighed as she stood and left her ready-room. Lt. Tom Paris, the tall, blonde, helmsman was leaning back in his chair. “This is exciting,” droned the Lieutenant, making a point of souding anything but sincere. “If anything out of the ordinary happened around here, I’d die of shock.” “Oh, that’d be reason enough for me,” came a sly voice from behind him. “Q,” sneered almost every crew member on the bridge. No one really liked him. Actually, they down right hated him. *I don’t blame them!* thought Janeway. She’d had her own little . . . experience with Q, and she wasn’t looking forward to this next encounter. “Why Captain Janeway, “ Q said smoothly, “You look stunning!” “What do you want, Q?” Janeway said. She wasn’t impressed by his attempt to woo her. “Aren’t you glad to see me?” “Well, this wasn’t *quite* what I had in mind, but at least it spices things up a bit!” mumbled Tom under his breath. Q turned to face the young helmsman. “What’s that, Lt., is life a bit on the *dull* side? I might be help. . . .” “Q!” yelled the Captain, but it was too late. Q had vanished, but had left a little present behind for them . . . a Borg cube. “Well, I guess I’m about dead!” quipped the young helmsman. “Red alert!” commanded Janeway. The Borg cube filled the view screen. “We are the Borg,” droned thousands of low voices, “You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.” “I am Captain Kathryn Janeway, of the Federation Starship Voyager,” said Janeway. “You distinctivness will be added to our own.” came back the haunting reply. “Mute transmission,” ordered Janeway, her face expressionless. “Get us out of here, Mister Paris,” she added. “Yes ma’am!” responded Tom. He was more than happy to comply. Before he had a chance to do anything, though, a desperate voice came over the comm-system, which was sparked with static, “Torres to Bridge. Captain the Borg have. . . .” Sparks flew from a console, and the transmission was severed. “Torres, are you there? B’Elanna?” questioned Janeway, fear creeping into her voice. Silence filled the bridge. * “They don’t seem to be too worried about reserving fire-power, Captain. We can’t take this much longer!” yelled Ensign Harry Kim. The ship rocked from another blow. “Status report, Ensign,” inquired the Captain. Ensign Barquet was at tactical, as Lt. Cmdr. Tuvok had been injured. “Weapons array is off-line, warp and impulse engines are down. We have a hull breech on decks 5-7. Casualties are coming in.” “Leave them on the report. I’ll review them later. We have to get through this first!” interrupted Captain Janeway. She tapped her comm badge, “Ensign Cairhein, get a security team down to Engineering immediately.” She severed communication with the ensign, only to try to reach Engineering again, “B’Elann? B’Elanna, are you there?!” Panic filled her voice. Suddenly, the front view-screen blinked on. They were looking at the Borg cube. Janeway braced herself for the usual , but it didn’t come. There was a figure standing at the back of the screen, but Janeway couldn’t make it out. Then the figure stepped forward. Jaws dropped all over the bridge. A strong creature stood before them, with a few metal implants on her face. “I am Zarine of BORG,” stated . . . B’Elanna. * Mail deltaquad22@hotmail.com (Spooky) and dana_lynn_tighe@hotmail.com (Caitlin) with comments and . . . stuff. Visit our joint site at http://www.expage.com/page/voyxffanfic
