OK, guys, this is a sequel story. I love writing these, and loved the episode 'Deadlock' so I put two and two together and... WEIRD'S PART OF THE JOB B'Elanna sat in her quarters alone. She hated herself for what had happened to Harry earlier. She should have done something to help him, but she didn't. She let one of her best friends die. Yes, they had brought the other Harry back, but she would never be able to look at him without thinking *I killed him*. Then, there was the way Tom had acted when he saw her later that day. He didn't seem to want to talk to her about it, but she could see that he needed to. Hell, Harry had been his best friend, and now he was dead. All because of B'Elanna making one stupid mistake, she lost two best friends. *Great, a visitor!* she thought sarcastically. "Come in" she called out, less than enthusiastically. "B'Elanna, there's a party in the mess hall. Would you care to join me?" Tom asked her with a grin on his face that said he'd forgiven her. "What's the party for?" she asked him. She'd been so lost in her own thoughts all day, she had no idea anything was going on. "For Sam Wildman, and her baby, Christine. Also to celebrate getting Harry back" he told her with that same grin on his face. B'Elanna had been excited about the party, until she heard that Harry would be there. "Tom, I can't. Just go by yourself." she told him as she walked off into her bedroom. He hesitated for a second before going in after her. She was sitting on her bed, crying. *Crying?* Tom thought to himself. He'd never seen B'Elanna cry, except that time with the Vidiians. He sat down beside her, and put his arm around her. "B'Elanna, there was nothing you could have done to save him." he whispered to her, "I'm so sorry for the way I acted earlier to you. It wasn't anything against you personally. I was just angry at everything, and everyone after I heard that Harry had died. He's back, though, and he really wants to see you." he told her. She looked up at him, the tears gone from her face. "The party won't be the same without you. I'd miss you." he grinned, and did something neither of them had expected. He leaned down, and kissed her on the forehead. She stood up, grabbed his hand, and smiled down at him. The two friends walked off towards the party, hand in hand. THE END Legal stuff. Paramount owns all this stuff, but I own story. MINE!
