Yes, the legacy draws to a close, and you can all thank Amy, who convinced me to finish (therefore, it's dedicated to her) for all of this. Now, without further adieu, I now present... FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS Part Ten By: Lauren Taylor Four months after Tom's release, everything seemed to be back as it was. His life was back in order, he'd gained all of the weight he'd lost, had a clean shave, and his quarters were in the usual state of disaray, not the destruction that they used to be in. And, there was an addition to his quarters. B'Elanna had moved in with him about a month and a half ago, and they planned on getting married. They had already asked the Doctor to give her away, Joe Carey to be the best man, and Samantha Wildman to be the maid of honor, with Naomi as the flower girl. "Tom? You in here?" she called out as she entered their quarters after her engineering shift. "In here!" he answered back quietly from their bedroom. She walked in to find him laying on the bed, clutching a stuffed bear to his chest. She recogniced the bear as one that she had cleared out from Kes' quarters, a present from Neelix. She sat down beside him, and put her arm around his shoulders. These pangs of guilt happened every once in awhile, him blaming himself for being late to the holodeck, thinking that he could have saved their lives. "Why did she take them from us?" Tom whispered. "I don't know." she answered back, holding him close. Tom clutched the bear even tighter to himself, to where it hurt his hands to grip it, and replayed the conversation he'd had with the woman who had taken so many lives in his mind... ..."Why?" Tom asked the woman sitting in the brig. "You know how I felt about Harry. Come on, even he knew it. I know he talked to you about it." she answered. Tom nodded, Harry did talk about that quite a bit. "But, if you loved him, why did you kill him?" "You know how he was acting with Kes! I couldn't stand to see him with someone else!" she screamed as she stood up next to the forcefield. "I would have never had you pegged as doing something like this." Tom said to her. She sat back down, and looked him straight in the eye. "I guess I'm not the Sue Nicoletti you had me pegged as." she answered. THE END Ok, who would have guessed that? Be honest, people!
