"Teach Us To Be Still" Part 4 by Krystal Banzon B'Elanna yawned in the morning light. She opened her eyes to new surroundings and was alarmed at first. Then, her goal of finding Tom came back to her. She sighed nervously as she started her search through the forest. She just hoped nothing serious had happened to him, and also hoped she would find him by sundown. She didn't like to admit it, but she didn't like being lost alone in this dense jungle. She also knew that she would never find her way out of the jungle, unless someone found her first. She walked slowly through the trees, and plants, still holding the purple flower in her right hand. She stopped, and put the purple flower in her hair and above her ear. Then she jogged off into the forest. *************** Rylus was just waking up to the new morning. He had decided to walk towards the nearest city, which would be Callower, about a day aways from here. He knew B'Elanna would find Tom today. He didn't hide him too far away. It would take them about two days in any direction to reach the nearest city. They would make it. There weren't that many dangerous animals in this jungle. He knew B'Elanna was smart and strong. In two days he would find them, B'Elanna and her "prettyboy," then take them back to their hotel, and give B'Elanna a last purple flower before she left his world, and his life. Everything was okay between them. He did the right thing letting her go. Rylus was happy with himself and his decision. He couldn't wait to see his "Prettygirl" B'Elanna, and her purple flower in her hair. ************** B'Elanna wandered the jungle lost and losing hope. What if Tom was dead when she got there? What would she do then? She hated dwelling on possiblilities like that, so she stopped thinking. She leaned her shoulder on a nearby tree, looked up into the sky at Tarkon's two suns, and whispered, "Tom, where are you?" ************** "Shit!" He yelled, cutting his wrist for the third time. He rubbed the thick ropes against the tree to try and break them, but he had gotten nowhere. Tom Paris sat against the tree, and squinted at the two suns up in the sky. Then he whispered, "B'Elanna, where are you?" *************** Two eyes stared up at the blue sky. The left purple, and the right gold eyes stared at the same beautiful thing in the sky. Tarkon's two suns, two round balls of fire, and astonishing beauty. The two eyes were drinking in the beauty of the suns, when they were suddenly interupted by a voice, "Martel, the men have found nothing in this jungle. Perhaps they have made repairs and left?" The man with the gold and purple eyes, Martel they call him replied impatiently, "No, they cannot have made repairs and left. We shot them exactly where we were supposed to. The weakest point of the shuttle. They cannot have made repairs." "Well, maybe they left on foot?" Asked the man who first interrupted. The man with the blue and green eyes. "No, then we would have found the shuttle." "Well, the men haven't found anything." "Tell them to look harder. Harder and farther and faster. This is extremely important, Cielk." he told the blue and gen eyed man. "If the poeple in that shuttle survived, we can us them as hostages. We can get anything we want from this government, them leave and get off of this damned planet. Do you understand, Cielk?" "Yes, I understand." "So tell the men to look for the shuttle and the passengers. I want them alive. I believe the readings gave three life-forms?" "Yes sir." "Fine. I want those three passengers brought to me alive. If they died in the crash, bring me the bodies. But other wise, I want them alive." "yes sir." Cielk went off to tell the troops of their orders. The men went off easily and efficiently. Cielk smiled, soon he'd be off this overheated jungle planet, off into space, into the unknown. Martel watched as Cielk smoothly and quickly ordered the men to their jobs. The planet would be his soon. He believed he was smart. Too smart for a job at an office. Or at a school. He wanted to rule this planet, then go off into the galaxy and rule more planets. It was his destiny, he believed. Suddenly, he saw a rustle in the bushes. He waved for some of his men to back him up. They all pointed their phaser weapons at the bush. Then, a figure stood up. The man looked both embarrased and afraid at the same time. Their purple and gold eyes met, for the first time in many years. A clash of emotion and a raging storm fueed within each one of the eyes. Martel was the first to speak, "Hello again, Rylus. So, how many have you killed since we last met?"
