[posted 6/14/97] Notes: First of all, I would just like to say, that I know nothing about the mating habbits of Ocampans. So, therefore, I made all this stuff up. Also, I apologize if my writing is a bit grapic. Disclaimer: Star Trek and it's characters are owned by Paramount, Inc. The rest is owned by me! Hahaha! (that's my evil 'Amy the Villain' laugh) My Crazy Version of Blood Fever By: Amy Michelle Bitter (c) 1997 (amyb@i1.net) “Tuvok, report.” Captain Kathryn Janeway ordered as she walked on to the Brigde. She recieved no respone. “Lieutenant Tuvok, report.” She said facing his station. “Did you say something, Captain?” Tuvok asked dazed. “Tuvok, are you OK?” Janeway asked. “Maybe you should go to Sickbay.” “Agreed.” Tuvok said and walked off of the Bridge. But, Tuvok didn’t go to Sickbay, he went to his quarters. He knew what was happening to him, and it scared him. It was illogical to be scared, but what was happening to him was illogical. He was begining the Pon Farr. Tuvok decided he was going to meditate and try to bring the Pon Farr under control. After hours of meditation, the Pon Farr had only gotten worse. Tuvok knew he had to choose a mate. And, he knew who it would be. ************************************************************************ Tuvok walked into Sickbay. “Hi, Tuvok.” Kes greeted him. He said nothing, but positioned his hands on her face, as if he was attempting a mind meld. “Tuvok?” Kes asked. “What’s going on?” “My mind to your mind....” Tuvok began chanting. “My thoughts to your thoughts.” “Tuvok, stop it, your scaring me!” Kes tried to break free from his grip. Being a telepath herself, Kes heard his thoughts. She knew what he was attempting. “Computer,” Kes said. “Activate emergency medical holographic program.” The hologram shimmered into existence. “Please state the nature of the medical emergency.” “Help me, Doctor!” Kes screamed. “Sickbay to security.” The Doctor said. ************************************************************************ Kes entered Captain Janeway’s ready room. “You wanted to see me, Captain?” Kes said. “Yes.” Janeway said. “I heard about what happened in Sickbay. Are you all right?” “I’m fine.” Kes smiled. “Good.” Janeway said. “I need you to go on an away mission.” “An away mission?” Kes asked. “Yes, meet the rest of the away team in transporter room one in an hour.” ************************************************************************ Kes went to the transporter room just as the Captain had instructed her to. There she was met by the other members of the away team, Chakotay, Harry, B’Elanna, and Neelix. “Ready to beam down?” Chakotay asked everyone. Everyone nodded and stood on the transpoter pad. “Energize.” Chakotay ordered and the away team dematerialized. ************************************************************************ Harry, Neelix, and Kes went to examine the caves while Chakotay and B’Elanna stayed on the surface. While climbing, Neelix had taken a fall and injured himself. “Why did we bring you?” Kes shouted at him. “You’re just going to slow us down.” “I’m sorry.” Neelix tried hard to apologize despite the pain he was experiencing. Kes was amazed at herself. She never yelled at anyone. Now, all she wanted was to be left alone. “Kes, we’ve got to get him back to Voyager.” Harry said. “We came here on a mission, and I intend to finish it.” Kes said as she began walking towards one of the entrances to another cave. “Kes,” Harry said as he grabbed her by the arm and turned her around, “Where are you going?” “Let go of me!” Kes said and drew back her hand and scratched Harry across the face. She broke free from his grip and continued walking deeper into the caves. “Ouch.” Harry said as he felt the bloody scratch on his face. Harry contacted Chakotay and told him of the predicament they were in. Chakotay ordered Harry to go after Kes and find her. He explained that Kes was experiencing side affects of the mind meld. Harry walked into the caves uncertain of what awaited him. ************************************************************************ Harry found Kes sitting in the dark caves. She had removed one of her shirts and was wearing her tank top. Harry couldn’t help but let his eyes wander, he had such a crush on her. “Kes.” He said softly. “Just leave me alone.” She said. “Kes, we’ve got to get you back to Voyager, you need help.” Just then the cave started to shake. “What’s going on?” Kes asked. “It’s an earthquake.” Harry said. “Get down.” He shielded her small body with his own as he pushed her to the ground. Kes examined the scratch on Harry’s face. She ran her fingers gently over it. From there, her fingers moved to his hair and then she leaned and kissed him. He pushed her away and stood up. “We’ve got to get you out of here.” He said. “The entrance is probably blocked.” Kes said as she stood and walked over to where Harry was standing. “Harry,” she said in a breathy voice, “I need you.” She wrapped her arms around him and kissed his neck. Again he pushed her away. “Kes, you don’t know what your saying.” He said. “Your not yourself right now.” “Yes, I am.” She said. “Don’t push me away, Harry. We both know, this is what we want.” Harry wrapped his arms around her small body and kissed her passionately. Realizing what he was doing he stopped abruptly. “Kes, I won’t do this.” He said. “I won’t take advantage of you when your in this condition.” “Damn it, Harry!” She screamed beginning to get angry again. “Do you know how hard this is to fight?!” ************************************************************************ “If you don’t help her, she’ll die.” Is what Chakotay told Harry of Kes’s condition when they finally got out of the caves. Harry was left with no other choice but to, well, help her. To him it didn’t feel like he was helping her, he felt like he was some how taking advantage of her. ************************************************************************ For days after the away mission, Harry and Kes avoided each other at all cost. Kes stood in front of the turbolift waiting for the doors to open. When they did, Harry stood there staring back at her. She entered the turbolift, but tried especially hard not to make eye contact. “Deck five.” She stated and the turbolift began to move. “Computer, halt turbolift.” Harry said. Kes gave him a puzzled look. “Look, Kes,” He began, “We’ve got to stop ignoring what happened between us.” “Harry,” Kes said, “The best thing to do, is forget all about it.” “I can’t do that.” “Well, your going to have to, Harry.” Kes said. “Computer resume.” The turbolift came to a stop and the doors opened, but before Kes could step out, Harry said, “ To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t mind it happening again.” “Be careful what you wish for, Ensign.” Kes smirked as she walked out of the turbolift. =/\= Part Six =/\= “What?” Kes stared at the Doctor in disbelief. “Your pregnant.” The EMH repeated. “Apparently the mind meld accelerated your reproduction stage, and you began your elogium.” * How am I ever going to tell Harry? * Kes wondered. ************************************************************************ Kes stood in front of Harry’s quarters. She tentatively pressed the door bell and waited for a response. “Come in.” Harry called. Kes entered the room and told Harry, “We need to talk.” “About what?” He asked. “Maybe you should sit down.” Kes offered. Harry had a seat on the couch, and Kes sat next to him. “Harry,” Kes began, “I’m pregnant.” Harry’s mouth dropped open in shock. “I..uh, well...” Harry mumbled. “Pregnant?” “I just want you to know that I don’t hold you responsible for anything.” Kes said. “Not hold me responsible?” Harry said. “Kes, that is my baby. We’re in this together.” =/\= To Be Continued =/\=
