WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE UNIFORM?

Please see Brownie Program Book or Girl Guide Store Catalogue for details on uniform. The choice of uniform is up to you and your Brownie! We find that most younger girls prefer the dress and as they get older the pants and t-shirt or sweatshirt. Once your Brownie has her uniform she should wear it each week and on all outings, unless stated otherwise. If you can not get a uniform right away, aim for the tie first. If you can not afford the uniform contact your leader and we will try and find you one. Again, Guiding is for everyone, regardless of financial status.

Running shoes are a must for meetings as we are very active. However, for special events we may ask that dress shoes be worn.

Please make sure earned insignia is sewn, glued or pinned on her badge scarf, as they are earned.

Although not part of the uniform, we do encourage Brownies to have a camp hat, as we make many camp hat crafts, earn special crests for hats, and wear them to various activities. The new camp hat in the catalouge is great because she can keep the same hat through Sparks, Brownies, Guides etc. and just change the rope she wears around the brim.

If you can’t purchase the uniform camp hat please make sure she has a wide brimmed (not cap) hat for our day time outings/camps etc., as this is a regulation we must follow for sun safety!
