                                The Love Of the Rain

                                     By Shari Smith

The rain washes down, and slams against my window pane.
It washes away all the sorrow felt.
It brings about a story on anothers cards that are dealt.
The way of living for another life,
The way of smiling for another mouth.
The way the golden sun cheers us up when it rises,
                         The joys of many sizes.
For another world they are many.
Let us be joyous now and forever more.
For the love washed down by the rain, there is more!

                                  FRIENDSHIP
                                    ------------
                                   By Shari Smith

Friendship is such a rare gift,
When you are down, a friend will always give you a lift.
                      Friends can give you advice,
                      On math, and even lice!
A friend is some you can always talk to,
They will always listen, and never say shoo!
But keep in mind, they need your friendship, also.
They need your thoughts on world events, social things, and yes chicken pox!
That's not all, they need your love to help them stand tall.
Because friendship is such a rare gift.
