Our Village of Crynant (Creunant)
Date : 14th Dec 1998
Dear Keypals,
Thank you for your letters. We are going to tell you about our village.
I live in a semi-detached house. It is made from bricks and cement and the roof is made from slates. The village had about 2,500 people. We have a few shops such as a food store, sweet shop, fish and chip shop, paper shop, pharmacy and post office. The village has 6 churches. We have concerts in the Welfare Hall. I like going to the park in Crynant. There are lots of trees around Crynant.

Dear Keypals,
Thank you for your letter. We enjoyed reading them in class.
We will soon be celebrating our festival of Harvest. This is when we put meat, oil, corn and fruit around the inside of our church. We do this to thank God for all his gifts. We sing Harvest songs and listen to readings from the Bible. Some people have Harvest suppers in church halls. Many people gather to ear together. We all feel happy.
Please write soon.
Yours sincerely

Dear Friends,
We are finishing School today for our two-week Christmas holidays. In school we have made a candleholder of Santa Claus. Santa is a large, kind man with a white beard and is always dressed in red.
Our school musical play was called 'The Christmas Dove and the Woodcutter'. Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. December 25th was the birth of Jesus. Three kings followed a star to find baby Jesus. Jesus was born in a stable. Our play had singing and dancing. I was a snowflake in the play. We have Christmas trees and put angels and stars on the top.
Yours sincerely,
Charlotte

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your letter. We have done our Christmas play. Our class girls were snowflakes and the boys were 'Jack Frosts'. Jack Frost freezes everything. The Year 4 boys in class were bells and sang a song.
We have a man called Father Christmas who is a person who has a key and comes into our house on the night before Christmas and leaves us presents. If we are naughty he leaves us coal.
Yours sincerely,
Kimberley

Dear Friends,
Thank you again for your letter. We are preparing for Christmas now. Christmas is a very special festival. We have Christmas because Jesus, the Son of God, was born.
Our class have been making candleholders. The candle represents Jesus, the Light of the World.
On December 25th, Father Christmas calls to every home with presents for the children who are good. He is a fat, old, happy man.
Yours sincerely,
Lowri

Dear Friends,
Thank you for the letter. We are finishing School today ready for Christmas.
Christmas is all about the story of Jesus Christ when the three kings gave presents of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to the baby Jesus and to remember that we have presents at Christmas.
Father Christmas is a plump and very kind old man. If we are naughty instead of presents all you'll get is coal.
Your sincerely,
Emily
