Dear Friends,
Our main language is English, but we also learn Irish and a bit of French. Some people still speak Irish a lot.
I wear a uniform to school and when I arrive home I change into sports clothes. At the week-end I usually wear sports clothes. Most people wear sports clothes. In the summer we would wear a pair of shorts and a T-shirt.
In school we study three main subjects which are English, Irish and Maths. We usually spend 45 minutes learning them. We also study History, Art, P. E., Music, Geography and Religion.
There are 20 children in our class and 125 stuidents in the school. School starts at 9.20 a.m. and finishes at 3.00 O' clock. We have three breaks. A little one at 11.00 O' clock that lasts for 10 minutes, one at 12.30 p.m. that lasts for 40 minutes and other one at 2.00 p.m. that lasts for 5 minutes.
Usually after school I have my dinner do my homework and then I go to one of my many activity's like music, cubs, Irish - dancing and karate.
I go to school by car, which takes 10 minutes, but some people in our school go by bus, car, walk or cycle.
We do wear a uniform it consists of 4 articles of clothing which are grey white or blue shirt with a wine jumper a grey skirt for a girl and grey trousers for a boy, in the winter and spring the girls wear tights.
For breakfast we might have cereal, which is a lot of oats or wheat toasted, we have toast as well, which is toasted bread. For lunch we might have bread with a filling of ham or turkey. For dinner we might have some kind of meat and some vegetables.
My family consists of five people, but my mother is expecting a baby. The average family has five people including parents, but some people have 6 or 7 people not including parents.
My dad is a farmer and my mother works in Guinnesses [a company that makes beer].
My favourite programme is father Ted which is a comedy about priests. My favourite group is All Saints. And my favourite movie is George of the Jungle.
Ireland is a lovely place to visit you can see lots of mountains and there is a lot of rivers and lakes. If you visit Dublin you can see the Phoenix Park where there are lots of deer.
We celebrate Christmas day which in Caatholic religion is the day Jesus was born. St Bridget's day which is the day we remember a very important saint. St Patricks day which is one of our most celebrated festivals. We also have parades on St Patricks day. Then Easter which catholics believe Jesus was crucified.
