Holiday Cottage in Devon

The house is well equipped, suitable for children and is only a 10 minute walk from the SW coast path.

The country style kitchen has recently been refurbished and has patio doors leading onto the garden. The sitting room has an open fire with oak mantlepiece, it looks out onto the stream that runs through the centre of the village. Upstairs there are three bedrooms; 1 double,1 twin and 1 single and a bathroom with toilet, bath and shower.

Burnside has a wonderful garden, backing onto the fields of anchoring hill. There is a Mediterranean style patio with table and chairs. This leads onto the cottage garden area and next to this is a gravel terrace area and beyond this is a large grassy children’s play area with swings ,slide, toys, hammock . There are lovely views from here of the surrounding hills and village; it is a beautiful place to sit and watch the cows come down to the garden fence or watch buzzards overhead. There is off road parking at the front of the house.

Otterton is ideally located for a wonderful holiday in unspoilt East Devon. The friendly village is situated on the banks of the river Otter with its own restored mill open as a gallery, coffee shop and bakery where they sell their delicious and much sort after bread and cakes. The welcoming pub is only 2 minutes walk.
The nearest beach is Ladram Bay, surrounded by red cliffs it has a pebble/ sand beach and lots of rock pools. There are other beaches to explore within 5 miles. Exmouth has a 2 mile sandy beach and all beach and holiday facilities. There are quieter beaches at Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth and there are some wonderful walks to more secluded beaches. There are plenty of choices for walks from the village; riverside, coastal or countryside stunning scenery awaits.

East Devon is a beautiful unspoilt stretch of coast and it also benefits from a wealth of tourist activities, there is Bicton Park and Gardens only 2 miles away. Crealy Adventure Park, Pecorama ( trains and gardens) , The world of Country Life ( lots of fun for children ) and Seaton Tramway all provide fun in fine or not so fine weather. There are the beautiful houses and gardens of Killerton, A La Ronde and Escot. Locally there is fishing on the River Otter or sea fishing. Most sea and other sporting activities are available close by.
