2001. 15 minutes is simply not enough for a person to get a proper appreciation for this band. This band is extremely popular for a good reason, as these pop-punk all stars are very on the ball, with some of the most clean sounding lyrics and vocals I�ve heard in a long time. These guys have the level of talent to already have played with such bands as The Ataris, Goldfinger, and Pharcyde. They sound like Just For Today and old 1039-era Green Day, with a little more pep thrown in for good measure. These guys are definitely into the groove perfected by such legends as the O.C. Supertones, Operation Ivy, and the Offspring. The MTV public will see these guys very soon, as their infectious pop-punk beats will not go by unnoticed. They already have a video, and are shown on the local punk television show Are-Oh-Vee. The recording on this sampler is great, with only minor flaws in the content. A bass solo is naturally incredible, especially on the Up Syndrome song �Untitled BHS�, which also includes an excellent chorus. �Everybody�s Against Me� is a much faster song, not really any bit harder but sounding like Ignition-Era Offspring on the basis of the urgency of this song. The long time for punk songs (Up Syndrome�s songs are frequently past 3 minutes a pop!) only endears me more to this fine band. These guys need to hit the Midwest, as I want to see their onstage antics and even see what they are capable of in a live set atmosphere. Up Syndrome�s guitarist (Big Jon) and bassist (Brian �The Spicy Chicken� Carroll) will give the best of the best in their respective instruments a run for their money. �The Safe Sex Song� is just hilarious, acoustic, and yet serious in its own way, much like a Sifl & Olly song.
