The Ghost - This is a Hospital

This is incredible indie rock from the neighbors from Chicago, and I find myself listening to this CD over and over, as the catchy hooks grab onto ones brain and just will not detach. "By the Books" is purely indicative of The Ghost's style, as clashing cymbals mesh perfectly with the screamed-out vocals of their lead-man, just as "The Exhibition" is indicative of their more sedate, contemplative nature. All and all, this CD came to me very highly recommended, and I would have to pass on that recommendation to all the readers of NeuFutur. The CD sounds like it should be called "This is from a Movie", as the motion of the disc is all over the spectrum, only moving to the conclusion in an orgasm of delightful noise in the final track, "Red Slippers, Red Wheels" . Pick this CD up from your local reputable record store, as this is the culmination of all the indie rock and post-punk from the last twenty years and more, and believe it or not, The Ghost will be on the tips of peoples tongues soon enough. If you are not familiar with the band at this point, I dont know what I can say the band sounds like a medium between Thursday/At the Drive-In/Interpol with the more sedate sounds of Jimmy Eat World and Jeremy Gloff. When I say like a medium, perhaps I should say that The Ghost incorporates the best of both styles and discards the rest.
