The Astroglides-....Penetrate With the Astroglides

Israeli surfcore band, 2001-Penetrate With� the Astroglides. 2/3 of these songs are instrumental, the only true way to have surf music. Without words, surf music is actually very listenable, even daring to be called goof. Perhaps it is because the Astroglides are just that good. �When I Sat On A Bottle� is a much different sounding song then the two previous track. Returning to the surfcore the vocals almost seem more suited for a death metal band. The songs are all together very short, a sad fact that I think should be brought to light, as the music is incredible sharing a common thread without sounding repetitive. One of the only complaints that I have with this CD is the extremely low level of the vocal tracks. The songs, for being instrumental, have extremely odd title, such as �Kabbalah Fucker� �Mystic Sphinx-ter�, and �Omar Shariff Ballad.� �Is Bomba looking for a Snorkel� has one of the best guitar riffs on this CD on it. The way the Astrolides successfully mix punk, surf, and metal is amazing. In fact, all the vocal tracks have a much more sinister sound to them, assuredly more metal influenced. The recording and package of this album makes me think that they are a considerably larger band then I originally thought when I emailed them. They do a cover of the Batman theme song in their awesome surf style that has me rocking balls out! The only thing that I want from this band is a lyrics sheet in English.
