TDNDOK – Self Titled

Wow. Just listening to the beginning of the CD, it seems like TDNDOK is a Jewish version of Wesley Willis. All the layers of the opening track, "Highschool Dorkface", really coalesce from their constituent parts, while "Technophelia" continues to ride on the wave created by Dorkface, even being so bold as to go and give Wesley Willis his props. Aside from sounding like Wesley Willis, listeners may see the same deadpan delivery as the oft-parodied lords of the internet, the Icy Hot Stuntaz. If you are a fan of pseudo-rap with a electronic background, then TDNDOK is totally the band for you, as the lyrics are humorous. ND (the lyrical master) has the flyest flow, and he isn’t afraid even to do some whistling during a track "Albert Einstein". Seriously, when I compared him to Wesley Willis during the beginning of the review, I think I really misspoke. He may sound somewhat like Willis, but he actually goes farther than the schizophrenic head-butting master himself, and I feel myself able actually to listen to the CD over and over, something I just can't do when I listen to Willis. Sadly, though, this CD is the only thing that these guys put out as TDNDOK, but George (a part-owner of Breaking World, the label the CD is on) was kind enough to actually show me TD and ND's new act, Johnny Franchise and the Merchandise, on whose site their whole CD can be downloaded. The site is accessible at : http://plasticfeet.com/johnnyfranchise/index1.htm . Love the TD and ND. I do.

Rating : 8.9/10 .
