Sworn Vengeance - Domination
A metal band is wise to begin their CD with an instrumental track, and Sworn Vengeance are no dummies. However,"Domination", as the disc's title song, is fairly regular, with much screaming and good Slayer-(old) Metallica-style guitars. "Bloodstorm" is more of the same, but also contains a second vocalist on the track , pulling it out of certain metal obscurity. "Reign of Terror" takes the guitar pieces to the next plateau, alongside such amazing acts as Bolt Thrower and Meshuggah, and is also, for whatever reason, uncharacteristically short. With "Weakness", seriously heavy, catchy guitars mesh with excellently delivered lyrics to create a ass-kicked song. "Mark of Cain" is almost a funk metal song that one can simultaneously shake their groove thing and head bang to. Speed comes back to Sworn Vengeance in "Blatant Disregard", but it also has some of the grooviness found in "Mark of Cain" and more of the top-notch guitar licks one learns to expect from them. To end the CD off with such a seriously stronger note then it began, one need only look at "Born From Homicide", the logical progression from the prior three tracks. Even the secret track kicks the unobservant HC/metal fans' ass with the simple shouting and just dirty guitar riffs. Get in touch with Sworn Vengeance at:
