16 Songs that are actually 11 songs in this 3 piece band. This album was out in 2000. Suk are old style punk fronted by Teri, who also plays bass amazingly well for a vocalist. The band must be relatively large, as they have a UPC logo on their CD. The female voice changes things up a little, as I believe that this is the third act Ive reviewed with a female lead singer. The first two were Alone and M.D.M. SR, the drummer, IOUs definitely one to keep up with Teris vocals and speedy bass. The recording on this album is decent, except the vocals, drums, and guitars are all a little flat. Songs on this disc are relatively long, most over 3 minutes. The dual vocal blast on Team Tweak towards the end provides a great ending to this song. These guys seem to have been at this for a decent number of years, as the songs (of what I can understand) are well-written, and all the instruments work well together. Imaginary Line has a simply fucking awesome bass line which is unfortunately too muted by the recording and overshadowed by the drums. This is the third band in a row thats included a lyrics sheet with the CD, a definite plus. However, the layout of the lyrics is such that the boldness of the font changes. The backup vocals on Imaginary Line provide a very interesting chorus. Andy is able to finally get some memorable licks in during Cursed in which he joins on in the singing. On another note, this really is a self-sufficient band, as they did 99% of the art and recorded and mixed the CD themselves. Some of the songs have an entirely too longg instrumental interlude, only to come up with a decent song. Andy and Teris voices work extremely well together as most of the time the listener can barely discern which of the two are singing. Teri, at times, sounds like the lead female singer of the B-52s, especially during Suk, which also has a killer guitar line. Leeches begins with a guitar line more closely affiliated with Static X then with Suk. One should watch and follow the lyrics word to word, as the songs dont seem to be number correctly on the back, causing your friendly reviewer to go through the lyrics sheet to get the right song. Oh well! Get in touch with Suk at incriminating Records, 1021 E. Broadway #125, Long Beach CA 90802.
