Steve Towson - When The Revolution Comes

Two song single. With this CD only being two songs, I am afraid that I cannot come up with as in-depth a review that I typically like. This really sounds like early 70's rock mixed with the slightest bit of punk music, and recorded horribly. However, one should not blame Steve for this recording, as I believe that his outfit is decidedly low-key. There is definitely a lot of Blues influences in these tracks, and saying that, one should definitely look to the Clash for a more modern influence on Steve. The second song. "It?s Breaking", continues this innovative sound, with a much more punk-influenced guitar and a harmonica line that continues to jump in at random points, creating a track that is utterly catchy, even if you have no clue what he is saying (Thank the Goddess for a lyric sheet!). In a time when conformity rules the music scene, Steve really is a beacon to innovation. Check him out at http://www.stevetowson.com . Go to the website to check out some more songs by Steve, as the CD that I received was from 2000, and I?m not definite if this is still the style he is most comfortable with.

Rating : 7.3/10.
