rabies caste - let the soul out and cut the vein

10 track CD from these Russians living in Israel. Thid album will be released by Europe's primary heavy metal label, Earache records. This 3 piece band's CD is a small chunk at 45:35, which averages out to 4:54 a song. From the opening track, "Got It From Black", heavy guitar riffs mingle in with the extremely distorted voice of David K, which makes sense, as he plays guitar and sings. Each guitar riff is a weapon, as during some songs David uses it as a mace, furiously wailing on any comers, and in others, uses it to make a cut with surgical precision. Either way, Rabies Caste completely disassemble popular music, twisting it in on itself and making a new hybrid which will wipe out all of the poser trash. Lyrics, as expected, are incredibly hard to decipher, but the official CD may fix that problem. "Hand Abortion" shows off the superior skinwork by Dale Rapid in a song that seems to be a mix of NIN, KMFDM, and Sepultura. It is almost the only song that I know of that uses the word "Die" (again, I'm only guessing) as 90% of the words in the song. "Hand Abortion" is the most radio friendly song on the disc, and true to its name, "Out of the Solar System" contains more spacey guitar riffs while still keeping a wicked edge. "Haemophilia" used a modification of the same guitar riff to start off the track, but goes increasingly random in the guitar and drum category as the song goes on. Screeching guitars played during "Haemophilia" are just enough to make chills go up your spine. As one gets used to David's vocals, the lyrics are easier to pick up, so one may want to keep in mind that this is like a nut-hard to crack, but the inside is very rewarding. "I'm So Tired" is the perfect song for this review, as it is 4 AM when I am writing this. The song takes about a minute for the first lyric to appear, but the riffs during the early stages of the song are downright brutal. "Andrea" is another slow starting song with black metal leanings that will make your colon shiver in fright. This album comes out August 27, so preorder it now!.
