Another German band that uses a love for the heavy guitar to their advantage, as they successfully mesh together metal guitars and a generally harder sound into a definitely poppier sound. The music never fails to disappoint, as I felt my food automatically tapping along with the drum beat and my head nodding to the extremely crunchy guitars. All and all, Poisoned Child sounds like another band that you'd find on your radio, only two or three times rougher than youd find on most pop-rock radio. "Black Paint" shows an influence mixing heavier 80s rock with Nirvana, and this influence is continued on the third track, which is be far the lightest sound on the disc. "Cover" also follows along well with the whole sound of pop-radio, almost seeming as if Nirvana met up with Hoobastank or any other pop-rock act of the day. From what I can tell, this band is defunct, as their site has not been updated since the early days of 2002. That is unfortunate, as there was really a lot to this band when one was able to dig through all the layers of noise to get to a pretty fun, rocking band. You can get in touch with them at [email protected] if you wish to know whats' up with the act, and you dont even need to know German!
