Honestly, this CD has been sitting around my room for months upon months, and I am sorry for not reviewing this any sooner then I did. This CD is rock-out emo, a mix between At the Drive-In and old Jimmy Eat World. Wonderful instrumentation mixes perfectly with lyrics of the most personal nature. The sound created by this disc is like an endless crashing of waves, as one can either listen deeply to it and extract oodles of meaning or one could just sit back and meditate on this music. While some parts of the CD may seem grating to the people not versed in the band, all parts of this disc work in tandem to each other to make a musical soundscape. Other influences besides the emo flavor of the hour come out to the listener, as well, including heavy parallels to Pink Floyd in songs like "Half empty? Half full? I never got a glass to start with", and mid-90's alternative music (Mudhoney, Matthew Sweet, etc) in "What the weatherman forgot to tell you". Simply, this CD is a masterpiece, a work of art that captures a number of moods and successfully integrates all, making for something not easily forgotten.
