2000 on Sub Pop Records. This band was founded in 1994-Norwegian band. Wonderful opening riff to this CD, with a definite late 70s-early 80s rock feel to it, much like Ted Nugent, UFO, and Public Enemy #1-era Motley Crue. The guitars laid down by Captain Poon #1 and Raldo Useless mesh perfectly with the sense of punk urgency spliced into the mix. The Year of Manly Living is a oddball homage to Danzigs single Mother, with very near guitars and a Misfits style chorus following , making a wank-o-rama. This whole Scandinavian movement is poised to totally break out in the States, but only time will tell if these guys, or the Hellacopters, will have any chance in the dog-eat-dog world of popular music. Go Away Man goes farther into the land of the Misfits, with very disturbing lyrics. The piano that is played at a breakneck speed by Jacques Poo Poo adds something special to this song. I really want to have a lyrics sheet for this band, as I can hear most of the words sung but absolutely have no fucking clue what the songs are about. Gluecifer very successfully mixes 70s arena rock with punk to make a truly memorable and kick ass album that Im sure will be stuck in my CD player for a long time. All instruments played in Gluecifer are top-notch, without any noticeable weaknesses. From what I can hear, the lyrics need to be tinkered with a little, but it is really easy to ignore the lyrics and completely zone out on the amazing guitars laid down by the two amazing guitarist. The drummer is no slouch, with drum beats that would make Tommy Lee shit his pants in envy. The three songs from Soaring with eagles at night, to rise with the pigs in the moaning mesh perfectly with Ridin the tiger, an interesting thing to consider when those albums were put out a year apart from each other. Pick this album up if you liked any hair band of the early 80s, because you will not be disappointed by this effort.
