2001 on BEC Records. This CD has 14 songs, which clock in at 47:43 (3:25/song). They are a 4 piece pop-punk band that contains No Doubt or Save Ferris style vocals with a trombone and trumpet. This and a very important and strong Christian message make this album one that won't easily be forgotten. From the beginning riffs of "Prom Queen", I was absolutely hooked to this band. While each song deals with mortal life, all songs eventually move to the grander plan of praising God. Seemingly inspired by labelmates the (O.C.) Supertones, Flight 180 takes their rightful place along such great Christian Ska and Punk acts such as Dogwood, Relient K, and the previously mentioned Supertones. The Beginning duet of tracks, with their speedy tempo, naturally move into a slower, more sedate track by the name of "Sorry". "Sorry" is a song in which the brass superbly mimics the sadness felt by the character singing. "I Want A Guy", with its "Society" - era Pennywise sound, devotes much of the lyrical style to various famous fempunk acts such as Me First and The Donnas. During the tracks that she is present on, Madelyn Mendosa adds so much to Flight 180's sound, as her voice harmonizes so wonderfully with Kim Tennberg's vocals. "More", just before the common ska guitars, a smoking guitar piece completely blows the listener away. Kim is at a true high point during the chorus of "Wal Mart", which is infectious and seriously bubbly. This track will be heavily listened to in this household. "Good Thing" is another incredibly sharp song with a catchy chorus but has the guitar in new and exciting riffs, so as to not get repetitive in any way. "In the Midst" begins with a heavier sound and has Kim adopting a tad bit more harried voice to compete alongside the wailing guitars. "Superhero" is a perfect way to end off this extremely wicked CD. I would whole-heartedly recommend this CD to all fans of punk music.
