Wow. This is one of the CDs that Breaking World Records sent me, and I really dont know what to say or think about it. This is a four track album that is all just musical soundscapes, all electronically-created, and it would be just about perfect if there wasn't one piece of each song that started to give me a headache. Imagine Kraftwerk without horns. Imagine AutoCAD with more musical backing. Imagine coughing on some of these tracks. Now, youve got Tumblecatpoofpoofypoof. Really, my review sounds completely harsh and I do not intend it to be. This music is almost perfect just to sit back and fall asleep to, if it wasnt for the grating noise on some of these tracks. Also, I can see the desire to split the music up into tracks, but the places which this guy cuts at are just not where I would cut them. Extra kudos goes to Josh for his last track, "friends of friends", which proves wrong my earlier statement about this being an all-electronic album. I had to go back to the liner notes and actually find where it says that he plays accordion, but it is completely and utterly real. And, may I say, utterly fabulous, and a great end to a CD that plays more like a Klaus Schultze album than anything. This is some of the clearest live music that Ive heard, which only heightens my opinion about this act that much more. Get this CD from Breaking World Records at http://www.breakingworldrecords.com . I would, but I already have a copy.
