The Yellow Snowmen@Cool and Phat July 16th
They are a 3 piece band from Ashtabula/Conneaut. The guitarist has a cordless! Really audible bass, no vocals at the beginning at all. Typical cool and phat sound. When i can hear them, the vocals are really fast and delivered well. The 1st song has short breaks in it, to make the guitars sound faster when they are playing . All of the members of the band are really talented, at the breakneck speed that they are playing at. The bassist is definatly from the Matt Freeman school of bass playing, and the guitarost can pull out some really good shite. The bassist can jump really high too. The drummer has some amazing sections in the set. The songs range from Screaming Punk to Metal, and all of it kicks major ass. All of this type of punk is good, and punk that takes itself lightly and is welcome to change is a really good band in my book. Hell they even do a half-funk song on this set, which is perect. THere are great tempo changes as well
Rating:8.5/10
The Yellow Snowmen- Matt Nelson. Ok I dont want to seem biased, Its not exactly fair to review a band that are such good friends of mind, but since the first time ive seen them they continue to impress me.Their music is a unique mix somewhere between Good Riddance Buddy Holy and the Specials. The Conneaut three piece consist of Jeremy on Vocals and Guitar , Doug on bass and Ryan on Drums. I can really pinpoint the bands stregnths because all 3 instruments blend together very well and the vocals fit very smoothy.
Rating:9/10 cuz they didnt play "life After Ballet"
