July 1, 2006 (Saturday)
At last Saturday and a long needed break from camp. I really think if we had to stay for one more day everyone would kill each other. I messed around on the computer all day and then went to church to serve the 5pm Mass. This Mass was the wrap up for VBS so we had many kids in attendance. After Mass was a pool party which was open to all those who attended VBS.

July 2, 2006 (Sunday)
My day started off early with being the reader for the 8am Mass. After Mass was over I went back home to finish packing up and then met Blaine and Paul at the church. On the way to camp we stopped at McDonalds and ran into Patrick and Carrie from camp there. This week of camp is bigger then last week, but is still very small compared to those first two weeks of camp. After the campfire I picked up all the role sheets which showed that classes would be very small this week for my program area.

July 3, 2006 (Monday)
Lakefront got a bit smaller today due to their area having the first person to leave camp due to not making enough money. My area seems to be only 375, from Ohio, and a few from Troop 915 from Alabama. After my relegious program meeting I got a complant over the Baden Powell program for the eveing. The leaders from 375 told me that Alex and Chis were doing a bad job and something has to be done.

July 4, 2006 (Tuesday)
I don't think Baden Powell eveing was imporoved by much, but at least I got no complants from Troop 375. I took my night off today and returned home to have some steak. crab, and shrimp. It was a very good meal to send me back to camp food.

July 5, 2006 (Wednesday)
During a break from the evening program of Baden Powell I had another complant from 375. I decided it would be best if I taught that whole class and just let Alex and Chris sit back and watch. That evening at supper I talked to Wes and Alex and Chris ended up having to go home. Keith also lost his job today, but will be spending the week in Lower Fox because his troop is here for the week.

July 6, 2006 (Thursday)
Just make things crazier! Nate has been cut as Archery Director and Don Rozar will take his place. This whole situation came about due to a scoutmaster refusing to wear an arm guard while in the range. It is so great to have classes finally over which means I do not have to hear anything from 375 again.

July 7, 2006 (Friday)
I was suprised by my mom today who decided to come by for campfire along with a few other mothers who had scouts here this week with Troop 94. I really wanted to go home with her, but there was no room for me. At least she left a giant cookie for me to split with a few of the guys.

July 8, 2006 (Saturday)
Woke up with an itchy face. Turns out I have posion ivy really bad all over my face. I hope to keep creams on it and it go away cause I do not want to take the time out of my schdule to go to the docter to get a shot. Once getting home we ended up going to Johnson City to get some Japanese food and also to stop by Books a Million. After JC it was back home and then off to serve the 5pm Mass. After Mass my family went to the Phoenix to see the new Pirates of the Carribean movie which was a very good movie. After the movie I went to Wal-Mart and got some stuff for my ivy. While there I ran into a few camp staff: Hannah, Luke, Brett, Nate, and a few others. I will write again next Saturday and will try to cover the happenings of the last week of camp.

July 9, 2006 (Sunday)
My last week of camp is finally here and once I arrived at camp Wes made me go to the hospital to get my poision ivy taken care of. I guess Wes' idea was good because after getting the shot my face felt a lot better. Only one more week to go and I will leave Camp Davy Crockett behind for the summer. This week only has around 180 kids and all of my classes are on the small side of things. Due to losing some staff last week I will have to teach class, but everything should turn out good this week.

July 10, 2006 (Monday)
Baden Powell only has classes in the morning and I have a total of 10 kids who are in my patrol. They are very well behaved, so this week should go well. I was given two campsites to be unit commissoner of, Upper For and Lower Fox. The Relegious Program even had a good turn out tonight and it looks like it will be possible for me to reach 100 youth this summer if I am able to get 30 this week.

July 11, 2006 (Tuesday)
Went home for my night off. I ate some fish at home with my family and my uncle Rick joined us. After the meal I ended up having to go to Wal-Mart in order to pick up a Christmas present for Sarah Barnett who I ended up getting for the Christmas in July party. After Wal-Mart I had about an hour at home and then I had to make my return to camp.

July 12, 2006 (Wednesday)
Only a few members of Staff were left around the camp today due to most people taking their night off on Wed and not on Tues. Classes went well today, but I am still ready for them to end and for camp to be over.

July 13, 2006 (Thursday)
The Christmas in July party was held today after the Staff vs. Scoutmasters volleyball game. I ended up having a good number of kids finish the relegious program, but I had to talk a few members of Staff into it so I could reach 30 for the week which would give me 100 for the whole summer. Victoria, Sarah, Nate, Paul, Chiristian, Brett, Blaine, and a few others where talked into finishing the program to help me out.

July 14, 2006 (Friday)
The Lakefront ran the Crockett Challenge this week, but the event ended up being cancelled due to rain. All that hard work for nothing; poor lakefront. The campfire only had a few skits due to the small week of camp. It was here that I got to announce that I got 30 in my Relegious Program this week which gave me 100 people for the summer. Also at campfire OFC gave their Biggest Fan Award which is actually a giant fan to Matthew of Troop 1. After the campfire Staff got to hang out at HQ and eat some ice cream.

July 15, 2006 (Saturday)
Finally the last day of camp is here! I got out of the camp at around 11am and will not have to return until the Catholic Camp which starts this Thursday, so I will finally get to update my journals everyday until Wednesday night because of the camp. While I was leaving Wes stopped Sarah and asked her to do vespers for the Webelos coming in on Sunday. I have written everything up for her, so hopefully her service will go well this Sunday. Its going to be weird actually being able to get a full night's sleep for the next few days. I served at the 5pm Mass and once it was over stuck around home to hang out with my family.

July 16, 2006 (Sunday)
Started my day off getting up early so I could make it to church to serve the 8am Mass. After Mass I went out to Ryans to get some breakfast with my family and with the Fredricks who will soon be leaving Notre Dame. After eating I returned to the church for the 11am Mass where I got to be an Extra-Ordinary Minister of the Eucharist. After the 11am Mass it was back home for the rest of the day to just take things easy. O yes I also must mention that I will be interviewed tommorrow at 3pm by a few women who are writing about different relegions and I will be interviewed over the Catholic faith. I just hope I dont make a heritic of myself.

July 17, 2006 (Monday)
Today was my first Daily Mass in about seven weeks. The last time I was at a Daily Mass it was when Notre Dame was Father Jim's parish. I got to serve the Mass and after it was over I went to Food City to pick up a few items, and then I went home to take it easy and watch Star Ward VI & V. After watching these two movies I had to go back to the church to be interviewd by two ladies writting about the Catholic church. I talked with them for about an hour and a half which was enough time to cover much of nothing. The church has so much to tell about I think I could of went on for the whole day and still not be done talking about it. After my interview I headed to Jonesborough with my mom and sister for her girl scouts meeting. While the meeting was going on I walked down the road a bit to check out what movies the local video rental had for sale. After looking at the movies I went into Rite Aid and ran into an old high school friend, Jesse Jones. We talked for awhile and then I moved on to Arby's to get a Roast Beef sandwich. After eating it I went back to the girl scouts meeting and then left to go back home.

July 18, 2006 (Tuesday)
Today I got to help with my first high school summer service of this year. Everything started off with Morning Mass which I served at and then we went into the work of the day. Paul was the only high schooler who made it to Mass. Paul's brother joined us an hour later and Kelly came around 11am. The first thing we did was run a meal's on wheels route which we did not get to run. They put us down for wed and not tues so there was nothing for us to do. I will have to make the route with my mother tommorrow thanks to this mistake. Instead of doing meal's on wheels we went back to the church and helped the Tuesday Crew with a few projects that they were working on. After doing this we had some pizza for lunch and then we started staining my prayer circle's benches and a picninc table. After all the work was done we went to TCBY for some ice cream and then we went back home. In the mail I got a letter from Conception Seminary which told of this coming school year's leaving campus policy. We will not be able to leave from Sun at 8pm to Friday after Evening Prayer. We are allowed to leave during the Tuesday lunch period. This rule only effects the Freshmen, Sophomores, and the Junior class.

July 19 (Wednesday)
Help to serve the 8:30 Daily Mass and then went off to make my meals of wheels run. After making the run I spents the day helping my mom get everything ready for the upcoming Catholic camp. We ended up doing all the shopping which costed us $400 and pack the van up with all the camping gear. We left my mom's van at the scout camp so all the gear would be there. While I was at camp I ran into Blaine and we talked for awhile until I left. After camp we went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few items. After getting back home I still need to type up all the prayer services for the week. Due to the Catholic camp which starts tommorrow I will be unable to journal again until Sunday night.

July 20, 2006 (Thursday)
Served for the morning Mass and then went back home to pack and get a few things ready for the Catholic camp. My mother had a meeting in Knoxville so I got the house to myself until she came back at about 5:20pm. We got to the church a little bit after 5:30 and the rain was coming down hard while we loaded the van with everyone's gear. While we where getting ready Victoria and Sarah came by the church to get their job application for Camp Davy Crockett Staff 2007 signed by my mother. Those attending the Catholic Camp from Notre Dame are Lesley, Blake, and Ashely. Once getting at the camp we were joined by the other churches to make a group of about 22.

July 21, 2006 (Friday)
Everyone got up at 7:30am and then we started to get breakfast ready. After eating and cleaning up all of our dishes we headed up to the chapel to pray Morning Prayer. After Morning Prayer we headed off to the COPE course to do the low ropes course. Steven, Holly, Blaine, Wes, and Ed where around to help with the team building of the low course. We took a lunch break and then returned to the COPE course to do the tower. Once everyone was tired of the tower Mike opened up the pool and everyone got to swim. I stuck around and hung out with Steven, Blaine, and Holly for awhile before I joined the group at the pool. After everyone was done with the pool and dried off we headed back up to the chapel for Stations of the Cross and Evening Prayer. Deacon Jim from Saint Patrick's Church in Morristown was able to join us for prayer.

July 22, 2006 (Saturday)
Started the day off just like yesterday. Once Morning Prayer was over the group headed over to the archery range. JW and Mike were in charge of the range and made everyone to wait for the rain to end before he would allow people to shoot. Eventually the rain stopped and everyone who wanted to shoot got to. After archery was lunch which Father John showed up just in time for followed by the lakefront. After the lakefront we had about an hour of down time before Father Jennings showed up to celebrate the Mass with us. I got to serve for him seeing that I brought my surplus and cassock along with me. I have also been working on the vocations end of things because I have a girl who is interested in going to Saint Cecilia convent in Nashville with me.

July 23, 2006 (Sunday)
Started off with prayer and then eveyone got all the gear loaded up. After everything was packed up we took a reflective walk threw the camp and prayed the rosary as we went. We ended up at the campfire area and had a talk about the pros and cons of the week and it looks like everyone liked the camp and would come back again next year. After this we came back for a quick lunch and then where on our way back home. After getting home I caught up on all my lost sleep. I took many pictures from the week, but they probably will not make it to this website until I get back to school because of my slow internet connection.

July 24, 2006 (Monday)
Just spent the day taking it easy. Started off with serving for the 8:30am Mass and then met with Father after to talk with him about the things that I will need when I go back to the seminary. After talking with him I went home and slept until it was time for my mom's girl scouts meeting which I went to. Looks like August 15th will now have a 6:30am Mass along with the 8am and the 7pm that are already scheduled. This way no one will be able to use the excuse of "I had to go to work, so I could not attend."

July 25, 2006 (Tuesday)
Served for the Morning Mass and then did Meals on Wheels with Stephanie, Chris, and their mom. My mom was unable to help with the Summer Service Program this week because she had youth ministry meetings in Jonesborough. After wrapping everything up I went back home to do nothing for the rest of the day. Once my mom got back from her meetings we went to Food City and I ran into Nancy Clark, who I have not seen since Father John came to our parish. I am in high hopes of talking her daughter Meredith into coming on the rafting trip with the church.

July 26, 2006 (Wednesday)
It was a great day of doing nothin. All that I did today was attend and serve for the Morning Mass and then return back home to do nothing for the rest of the day.

July 27, 2006 (Thursday)
Started my day off with the usual of serving for Morning Mass. After Mass I returned home and got some down time. Around noon I left to go to Johnson City where we picked up a new tire, got some Chinese to eat, and picked up a few books at the Girl Scout Office. Tonight I will spend a little bit of time working on my list of needs that I must give to Father John tommorrow after Morning Mass.

July 28, 2006 (Friday)
Started my day off with the usual of serving at the Morning Mass. After Mass was over I gave Father John my list of items that I will need for the upcoming school year. After giving the list to Father I went back home and took things easy until my mother returned home at about 3:30pm. Once she got home I ran around with her in order to get everything done for her upcoming 30 years class reunion which will be held tommorrow night.

July 29, 2006 (Saturday)
Got up early for a Saturday because the family went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few items. After Wal-Mart I went back home to spend the rest of the day taking it easy. I left the house at 3:50pm to head to the church for the 5pm Mass. There was no need of me serving this week, so I sat with the twins for Mass. After Mass it was back home to fend for myself because mom and dad where gone to my mother's 30th Anniversary of her graduation party.

July 30, 2006 (Sunday)
Got to the church at 7:30am to go over Father's changes with Lesley and then the two us served. The two of us did a great job and once everything was over I went back home for about an hour before having to go back for the 11am. I ended up not having any job to do at the 11am, but ended up having to help with the second collection because one of the ushers disappered. After the Mass I finally got to talk with Meredith again, and I succesfully talked her into coming on the rafting trip with us. After getting back home my family had a cookout and my uncle and grandmother came in to join us.

July 31, 2006 (Monday)
I started off my week and the day we the usual Morning Mass which I served at. Starting today our Daily Mass will be held at 8am instead of 8:30am, so I have to get up a little bit earlier then I used to. I went to Jonesborough with my mom and sister for her girl scout meeting, and then on the way back home we stopped by my uncle's house to pick up some steaks to cook for supper. Tommorrow will be the last High School Summer Service so I hope we will have some kids to help with everything going on.
