November 30, 2005 (Wednesday)
I am starting to come down with a cold, but I think I will get over it pretty fast. Despite being a bit sick I did attend everything today including team sports. My night will be spent preparing for tommorrow's biology test. After the test is over I will get to pick up my Biology Take Home Final and will have 12 days to Google it for all the answers. I should also note that when I was on my way home from Tennessee I picked up a new book called "The Colorado Kid" by Stephen King. This book is awesome and is actually a mystery story instead of one of his usual works. The book only has 178 pages, so it should be a fast read. I just took a look out my window and it is snowing a lot. If it keeps this up I am sure OT and possibly Biology and my exam will be cancelled.
November 29, 2005 (Tuesday)
We only got a little bit of snow, but it was enough for Old Testament to be cancelled. Our Biology teacher did make it in today, but I showed up late to class due to having the wrong start time in my head. The class was spent reviewing for the upcoming test which will happen this Thursday. I went into Maryville today to have Chinese for lunch. My Reflection Group meeting was cancelled due to Brother Elias coming down with a cold. After supper I had to attend a seminar of Natural Family Planning for Biology. We learned a lot of great information to bad the rest of the world does not teach this method of birth control. The downside to them doing this of course would be a fall in the sales in the birth control pill, and we all know money beats out doing what is morally right.
November 28, 2005 (Monday)
Colts go 11-0 after beating the Steelers! This was a cap off of a great day in which SBS was cancelled for the first time this year, so I went out for some great Mexican food in Maryville. The big advent wreath which is put around the statue of St. Joseph was blessed today after Evening Prayer. The tempreture has dropped a lot, and it is snowing right now. I hope both of my teachers will not show up for classes tommorrow. One comes from Kansas City and the other from Maryville.
November 27, 2005 (Sunday)
My flight left Tri-Cities airport at 2pm, but I had a lot of things to do before I left the good old state. First I served the 8am Mass, then I went to visit Kay & Heneri, attended the 11am Mass, and then headed to the airport. On my flight to Cincinnati I seen Heather, the girl I meet coming into Tri-Cities. I guess it really is a small world espically seeing how Esidro was on my flight into Kansas City. It is great to be back here cause I got a good internet connection and a good PC which is not a pain to type on. To think only three weeks and I will be back home with all my friends again.
November 26, 2005 (Saturday)
We left the church at 8am to leave for the scout camp, so we could do a few elements of the COPE corse. Kelly, Victoria, Sarah, Paul, Carrie, Stephanie, Chris, Rick, Cathy, and my mother attended the trip. We started off the day on the climbing wall, ate some lunch, and the went down the zip for the rest of the day. I made it back to the church at 4pm and prayed my rosary along with Evening Prayer before Mass. I was joined by Victoria and Sarah and we served the 5pm Mass. I think the three of us did some really good liturgy. This is the end of my time back in Tennessee, so my next entry will be from back in Missouri. I will miss being here, but it will be great to have my computer which actually works back.
November 25, 2005 (Friday)
Attended Mass this morning with my family. Todays intention was for my grandfather who passed away not to long ago. After Mass we went out to a local place to get some breakfast and then it was to Wal-Mart to do a bit of shopping. The guy that was going to take us mountain climbing tommorrow called saying he got called into work, so my mother talker with Ed and we will be heading to COPE for tommorrow's events.
November 24, 2005 (Thanksgiving)
It was a great Thanksgiving day which started with Mass. After Mass we headed home to cook and set up for the meal. We had around 12 people over to join us for Thanksgiving. Tommorrow looks like Mass and other than that nothing. I cannot wait for Saturday because I am going to get to go mountain climbing with the high schoolers.
November 23, 2005 (Wednesday)
I got to meet up with everyone in the high school youth group today. It was great to see Kelly, Paul, Matt, Meredith, Victoria, and Sarah again. We even had my favorite food spagetti. I passed off the Mother Teresa book today, so hopefully they will have it read by the time I get back for Christmas break. I really think I see a vocation here, but only time will tell if I am right or not.
November 22, 2005 (Tuesday)
I am writting to you from Tennessee! Its about time I got here cause I thought I was never going to get out of Atlanta. I got into Atlanta at 5:30pm and my flight was scheduled to leave at 6:45pm. Well we were told the flight was having problems so we would have to take another plaine. The next one came, but the flight attendant fell down and it took another hour to get ready to leave. I finally left Atlanta at 11pm and ended up in Tri-Cities airport around midnight. It was not all bad cause I meet a girl named Heather and we talked for quite sometime. It great to be back and tommorrow I will get to see all my friends in the high school group again.
November 21, 2005 (Monday)
To think this will be my last jounral entry from the state of Missouri for awhile. My day went great with my 3 classes and team sports where we got to return outside for soccer. The thought of being home and being with my friends again is keeping me going. I just want to be back home again in my own bed. It will be so great!
November 20, 2005 (Sunday)
I got to be hospitality with Abram today at Mass. My job was to hand out sheets of paper with the music for Mass on it, bring up the gifts, and then collect the papers once Mass is over. After Mass the Knights of Columbus had a 1st Degree Meeting which was followed by a meeting. On January 22nd I will finally get a chance to make my second and third degree because the ceremony will be held here at Conception. Also, this March I will get a chance to make my 4th degree. To think a 20 year old 4th degree it must be just about unheard of. After the Knights stuff was over I went out with a few of the guys for bowling, applebees, and Baskin Robins. I must also note the Colts went 10-0 today by beating the Bengals.
November 19, 2005 (Saturday)
The countdown until I get out of Bio on tuesday stands at 2 days 15 hours and 45 minutes right now. Anton tried to get a LAN party going around here, but that pretty much feel threw. The top attendance for the day was 5 people. I think it was a bad day to have his party due to all the KC-St. Joe guys being gone and around 30 people being in KC for Hartwell's exclusive supper. I have added a picture of Sam, John, and Jamie dressed up to see Harry Potter to my pictures page. You can find this picture in the folder titled Conception Seminary College.
November 18, 2005 (Friday)
We had no classes today due to a Boundries Workshop where we looked into proper boundries. I was counting down the hours until seeing Harry Potter for the whole day. A few of the guys in my group dressed up like characters from Hogwarts, and John Blaine looked very awesome and much like Harry Potter. Before the movie we ate at Taco Bell and got a few stares from people. Then at the movie we had people waving to us and even a group of girls came up to us and asked if we would sit with them. Of course we said no and kept our own seats not doing so would be a problem with Boundries I would think. I found this movie to be awesome, but I would pick the book over the movie any day. There is only so much information you can cram into a three hour movie.
November 17, 2005 (Thursday)
I was pretty tired this morning, so hopefully I will get to catch up on my sleep sometime soon. We got our test back for OT and I got my lowest grade to date a 63. Then Biology really got on my nerves because of how long it takes the teacher to start class. She was going on about people's projects which have to do with Bio Lab for around 40 minutes. Thank God I got to make the usual Gambino's run or I may of lost my mind. After getting back to CSC I headed to Bio Lab with turn my infor in and leave on my mind. It took me 20 minutes to leave because of her having to make copies.
November 16, 2005 (Wednesday)
Did not update my journal last night again. This time it was because I got too carried away with doing my Biology homework and completly forgot to update. The big news for today is I have gotten my tickets to Harry Potter. At 7pm Friday I will get to see this movie. From the previews it looks very awesome, so it should be a good one.
November 15, 2005 (Tuesday)
I am writting this entry a little late because of all the problems we had with power and everything else under the sun last night. The first snow of this winter fell today during our Old Testament class. I beleive this test was easier than the first, but harder than the second. I think I will make a decent grade on the exam, but only time will tell if I am right. There was no Biology seeing that Mrs. Nothstine is out of town, so I got the pleasure of taking the rest of my day easy. A little bit later in the day the power started to flicked, so it became unsafe for me to turn my PC on because I did not know when the next flicker would come. After supper things just got worse because we lost the internet, soon after that came the power along with the water. Thank God they have everything up and running properly now.
November 14, 2005 (Monday)
It was very cold and windy day today. Team Sports was moved inside so I got to play some volleyball. Tonight will be devoted to studying my Old Testament notes because I will have to take a test in that class first period tommorrow. Mrs Nothsteine is out of town, so I will get to go back to bed right after the test because of not having Biology. Welp I better be off to study!
November 13, 2005 (Sunday)
Today we did not have a sit down meal due to all the people here for the Ecounter Weekend. After lunch I went to to my room and did much of nothing for the day. I read some from a new book I picked up yesterday in the bookstore here. The book is called "Mother Teresa: Total Surrender" and wow does it give a great reflection of her order and her way of life. I picked the book up for someone back home and I decided on reading it before giving it to her.
November 12, 2005 (Saturday)
It may have been one of the most eventfull apostolics trips ever today. As we where driving down the road good old Andy was being himself and had his window down so he could throw apples out it. Of course Andy was wearing his glasses and seeing how his head was sticking out the window they went flying off. We ended up pulling ever and walking back and forth looking for the glasses along the side of the road. We had no luck in finding them, so we set off again to the Psych-Ward. We dropped Andy off to get new glasses and we went to the ward and picked him up an hour later. Ecounter also starts today and I got the chance to show a few guys around the school. I also got a chance to see the play "A Canticle for Leibowitz" which takes place in the future when the world has brought about its own end, and a group of monks send a ship into space to save the existence of mankind.
Novemeber 11, 2005 (Friday)
I did well on both of my tests today, so hopefully I will have the results within a week. We had a few extra people with us today for Evening Prayer because of some of the Ecounter people coming in early. I got to show one guy from the Diocese of San Angelo how to pray evening prayer with us. It just amazing that San Angelo has 10 guys down which makes them the second largest in attendance for this Ecounter. Tonight at 11pm I will to adoration for an hour for those on the Ecounter this semester.
November 10, 2005 (Thursday)
Today was a bit busy, but is OK compared to what I have to face tommorrow. I will get to take a test in SBS and a short answer exam in Western Civ. I got the papers today, so I can preregister and I think I will be taking 18 credit hours next semester which is up from this semester's 16. Also, at News & Views we where given some News from the Community Council. They had a great big idea or did they? Was this idea just some push from the head Father Samuel. Starting next Friday we will get a chance to give back to our school, the school we contribute $20,000 a year to in order to attend, so we can spend one hour of the free time we are hardly ever given doing work around the school when not going could make you look bad in the eyes of your chaplain. Sounds like the perfect deal to me does it not to you?
November 9, 2005 (Wednesday)
No classes today due to the Day of Recollection. Father Daniel has made me think about prayer and the government. It seems like these days prayer is being taken out of many places including the name of God, and I would think this would go for the House of Reps and other groups from the government. I would be very wrong to think this because he told us of September 11 when they met, but all they did was pray instead of voting on any issues due to what happend to our country earlier in the day. We to must join in prayer for our government and the issues that they have at hand. I know I have been one to leave them out of my prayers, but I will know make sure to always keep them on my mind as I spend time in prayer. Also, I fell short of contacting Sister Claire Marie. I guess I am a little bit scared to call someone out of the blue that I have never met before.
November 8, 2005 (Tuesday)
Peace and quiet and a chance to reflect has just hit Conception because we just started our Day of Recollection. Father Daniel Coughlin who is the first Catholic to be Chaplian of the House of Reps is with us to give this retreat. It will be interesting to here him give some insight on relegion and capitol hill. Also, I think I will try to call Sister Claire Marie again tommorrow. I am not for sure if I have commented about this nun before in my journals. To put it simply I see a vocation inside someone back home and this person happens to be a girl. I really think this girl should consider a vocation to the consecrated life, but am not sure how to tell her this. Well there was an article on this sister in a past issue of the Serra Club of Knoxville Newsletter, and a story is told how one day a seminarian set her down and said when he prayed for vocations he always thought of her. This got the wheels inside her head turning and she joined the convent right out of high school. I think talking to this sister will help me along when it comes to telling this girl about what I see in her. I think this is something God is telling me to do for many reasons. It seems like when I decide to push saying it away this push for me to say something comes back even stronger. I have been bringing this up in my prayer as of late and hopefully I will be able to get ahold of this sister so she can help me along.
November 7, 2005 (Monday)
It really has been dead around here as of late. Tommorrow night we will be having another Day of Recollection so no classes and this weekend will be very busy because of the Ecounter with God's Call Weekend. To think the Diocese of San Angelo will be bringing 11 people down. Supper was a blast today because I got to sit with Father Xavior, Anton, and John. Also, GO COLTS! Right now the score is 40-21, so they should stay undefeated and beat the Pats tonight.
November 6, 2005 (Sunday)
King of the Hill, the Simpsons, and Family Guy finally returned today after the break it took due to baseball. Cory went out and made a pizza run for us so we could enjoy pizza while watching the new shows. Its pretty early here and I have nothing else to do for the night, so I might actually go to bed by a decent time.
November 5, 2005 (Saturday)
I woke up this morning at 7:50am with a startle because I forgot today was Saturday, so I was like only 10 minutes till prayer and I will be late. Once I remembered it was actually the weekend I rolled back over and got some more sleep. After fianlly rolling out of bed I went to the Printery House to do some Christmas shopping seeing how all the Christmas items where 15% off from 9am-5pm today. As soon as I got back on the floor it was time to leave and head to Saint Joes for the weekly Psych-Ward visit.
November 4, 2005 (Friday)
Yes another week down and only 17days left until I will be back in Tennessee. I went into Saint Joeseph today after prayer to eat some Chinese and then watch Saw 2. Saw 2 is an amazing movie which is a must see. This movie lives up to the first one. This was my first trip to Hollywood 10 and I was not impressed at all. I will take the Hangar and Maryville any day over this sad excuse for a movie theater. For a new theater its design is horrible which causes a lot of huge lines for everything you do.
November 3, 2005 (Thursday)
I really hate Thursdays because of how packed they are. Seems like the only thing I have to look forward to is the trip to Gambinos for some great pizza and some great company. I was not in Bio Lab very long which is a plus because it gave me a chance to take a well needed nap. Mass was dont by a visiting priest from the ArchDiocese of Oklahoma City his name is Father Joe. I meet Father Joe over the summer when he spent some time at my Diocese's Convocation because he was in to attend the ordination of Tony Dickerson. After Mass I said bye to him and when I walked threw the doors of the refectory I was drafted into being a waitor because one of the guys did not show up.
November 2, 2005 (All Soul's Day)
It was a nice day where the weather got up to the 70s. I remember last year when we made the procession to the cemetary. The wind was blowing and it was freezing. Today in Team Sports we played Speedball which was a blast because I was on the winning team which completly killed the other team.
November 1, 2005 (All Saint's Day)
No classes today because it is a Holy Day of Obligation. I woke up at 9am, got ready, and went to Mass. After Mass we had a sit down meal and then we where free to do as we wish for the day. After this was over I went to Maryville and got some snacks, headed back to CSC to rest, went back to Maryville to eat some Chinese, and then returned here to watch Saw. I wish I could see Saw 2, but they are not playing it at the Hangar in Maryville. Also, I talked with my mother today and she informed me that my grandfather passed away today at 8pm. I will not be traveling back for the funeral because prices to fly are very high espically this last minute.
