ANGEL UNAWARE A young girl learning to fly in post World War II Midwest USA is naive enough to believe that because women pilots ferried aircraft, and more, as non-combatant auxiliaries during the War, they would be allowed into post-War commercial aviation as equals to male pilots. Disappointed to learn she is dead wrong, Liz Bartow enters the only aviation job that gives her a chance...airshow flying. After her abusive and exploitive airshow pilot husband Bob Kelly goes missing and presumed dead while on a ferry flight to South America, Kelly's best buddy, staid and dependable airline pilot Mark Bascomb, who had secretly fallen in love with Liz, persuades her to stay in aviation the only way she can, by becoming a flight attendant for the airline Mark flies for...Century. Here Liz learns that life can still be exciting, with the dangers that keep her on her toes still just a moment away. Mark and Liz live together, raising her daughter Leslie, to also be an aerobatic pilot, and eventually Leslie is hired by Century as their first woman pilot. The surprise ending proves that Liz's 'late' husband loved her, and their daughter, after all, also proving that life is not always what is seen on the surface. WGAE#102613.00 |

I am currently writing both of these screenplays into novel format, and I am putting The Beaux Arts Club into stage play format for production by local community theaters. The BA Club is based upon the multi-talented people with whom I went to art school at The School of the Dayton Art Institute, among whom was the extremely talented and popular comedian/actor/artist Jonathan Winters. |
