Seth

Seth stared at the place where the woman had disappeared with amazement. she had just been there a moment ago, where had she gone? the bear snuffled around the spot where she had stood a moment before, seemingly as puzzled as he. Then, her search unfruitful, the bear glanced around, and grunted a call to her two cubs. Seth breathed a sigh of relief as the bear seemed to have forgotten him, and watched the trio lumber away.
As the bear disappeared from his sight, suddenly the woman appeared at the base of the tree. "You can come down now. She won't come back till the moon comes up."
Seth glanced at the fast darkening sky and scrambled rapidly down fromt he tree he had been cling to. When he at last stood at the bottom, he looked at the woman. Her auburn tresses and emerald eyes seemed to glow in the gathering dusk as she gazed at him. Stunned by her beauty, he managed to stutter, "I'm Seth. What's your name?"
Shyly, she replied, "I am Aurora."
Seth smiled. "It's a good thing you came along, or I wouldn't be around to tell my companions of my wonderful adventure."
Aurora colored slightly, embarrased at the praise. She spoke quickly to cover her embarrassment. "You should leave now, before the mother bear returns. She will not be pleased if she again finds you intruding on her front step."
Seth was struck by the intense beauty of this forest creature. He knew that there was no possible way she could be attracted to him. He was not at all handsome,by any stretch of the imagination, and he knew it, and this beautiful apparation must have dozens of beaus lined up. It occurred to him that she was possibly just a figment of his imagination- a vision brought on by fear. That thought made him smile though, because surely he wasn't sharing visions with bears in the midst of the canadian forest.
The woman was standing there politely, if not a bit nervously, and Seth jerked himself to the present. He realized that they were miles away from any civilization that he knew of and this woman appeared to be traveling alone, and lightly. He wondered where she was camped, where she was going to eat. Before he could loose his nerve, or think about it, he blurted out "Um, I'm sure my companions wouldn't mind... I mean, could you come... I'd like it if you... um, would you come eat with us?"
Aurora looked about apprehensively, like she was searching for the bear, then quickly said "No, I can't. I have to go home now." Then she turned and disappeared into the forest.

That night, Seth couldn't sleep. The images of beautiful green eyes and auburn hair that were drifting through his mind were keeping him awake. He wondered where the woman had gone. He knew that there was no way shhe could live in this forest. He was very familiar with the great expanse of trees, and knew that no one lived within two days of where they were camped. the only conclusion that he could come to was that his woman he had met in the woods was of the fairy folk, or was a ghost that had decided to help him. Further evidence of this theory was her mysterious disappearance as the mother bear charged her.
Seth tossed and turned, but to no avail. He finally got up and went to find food for breakfast. Being careful not to get to close to the bear den, he trekked deeper and deeper into the forest. Soon, Seth looked up from his deep thoughts to find himself completely and utterly lost.

At the same time Seth's dreams were troubled by visions of aurora, the subject of his admirations was being deprived of sleep. She had never before seen aman, much less as close as this man had come to her. He had excited her in a strange way. She was so different from she and her mother. Taller, rougher, and just bigger over all. She couldn't seem to get him out of her mind. She heard the sound of his deep coarse voice over and over. It was so much lower then even her mother's husky voice.
At last Aurora gave up, and walked out to their small garden. They had collected and domesticated several varieties of wild forest herbs, and planted them in a small plot surrounded by a tall shrub fince that hid it from the eyes of wandering hunters and explorers.

Suddenly, Auora's meditation was rudely interrupted by what sounded like a huge stag thrashing in the foliage. As she stared in alarm in the direction that hte commotion was coming from, out popped a very bedraggled specimen. Aurora gasped as she recognized him; it was the man from the camp! All Aurora could do was stand there and gape in amazement.
