I Use TO Dream

I use to dream I'd be a Nurse

Then I fainted at the sight of blood.
I use to dream I'd be a Vet
Until I learned you might have to put animals to sleep.
Then I dreamt I'd be a Ballerina
Until I fell down the stairs. (So I was clumsy!)
After that, I dreamt I'd be an astronaut
That was when I realized I was afraid of heights.
Then I dreamt I'd be a writer
But someone told me my writing sucked.
Then I dreamt I'd be a star.
Well, I haven't gotten over that one yet.
Later on in life, I thought I was cool
With my spandex pants, and 80's hair. My lopsided front tooth...and a loud speaking voice.
But then I realized the 80's were over
My hair went flat, and I got braces.
Now I'll have to settle for being myself
And being what I feel.
Just because I want to be...
Well, I want to just be me.
