Forget

Make Me Forget

I saw you standing there,
Pretty as a picture.
I wanted so much to hold you,
To keep you by my side.

I watched you from a distance,
You never looked at me.
I told myself it didn't matter,
But inside, it cut so deep.

It hurt me to see you with others,
But I kept that to myself.
I didn't want you to know,
That I cared for you, and no one else.

My friends told me to tell you,
I told them I couldn't.
I was afraid you'd turn your face away from mine
And laugh.

Things are changing now.
Somehow you found out,
How my heart burns for you,
Inside.

You pretend I'm not there.
You give me funny looks.
You talk behind my back.
And it still hurts, every-time I see you standing there.

I think of you, by day.
I dream of you, by night.

You're always on my mind,
I don't know why I can't for get you.
Please try.
Tell me something to forget.
Speak to me,
Make me believe I'm wrong.
Make me forget it could ever be possible.
