Reason for being:
To be a Husker or not to be a Husker, that is an easy question! I think that being a Husker fan takes alot of courage and guts because we are a notorious underdog program. Even in 95 when we had possibly the greatest team to ever set foot on a field, the critics told everyone what the Fun n' Gun was going to do our slow D-backs etc. We love to bring up kids who aren't given a chance in hell on any other team and make them Academic All-Americans or field All-Americans. It is a feeling that even here in Texas, I can wear my stuff and other Huskers will come up and immediately, we have something to talk about. I really enjoy the fact that year in and year out, we get ranked but not hyped. We beat the best that other conferences send at us on a regular basis, but still people doubt us. I love hearing about our walk-on program, the 6 man players starting for the Huskers etc. |
