Favorite Husker: Trev Alberts

What the Huskers mean to me:

In my brief athletic career in college football, I had numerous injuries, but only one regret. Not playing at NU. Many walk-on to NU; I would have crawled

Favorite Husker moment(s):

There are 3:
1) Celebrating the first NU national championship in my life, what I remember of it anyway
2) The entire Fiesta Bowl vs. the Gators, especially the 2nd quarter and "The Run!"
3) And, although we lost, the Huskers that my friends and I are; drinking till we passed out after the ASU defeat and the vivid memory of my friend and I driving down O street in Lincoln as he was puking out of the car onto the cement the day after going home. Die hard NU fans!

Me Bleeding Red through and through

I regret little about moving to Texas except missing the family and the inability of being able to regularly attend NU home games, but it gives me a reason to get back home.

A true Husker story:

I bought a house in the suburbs of Dallas. My neighbor is a UT graduate and a die hard horns fan. When he realized that he had a Husker lving next door, every opportunity that he had, he played "The eyes of Texas are upon you" loud enough with the window open when I was outside. I heard it everytime and we always kidded each other about it. I asked him to come over for a Big XII championship party and he declined, but at the end when victory was at hand, I took a small flag I have that is posted in my front yard on game days and posted it in his yard in retaliation to the many times I heard the Eyes. He took defeat graciously and we always have something to talk about.

Just for everyone:

For those of you that post at HC on a regular basis, I want to thank you all. Not a day goes by when I don't visit the site and try to post some of my knowledge. But the bigger picture is the 700+ miles that actually keep me away from home aren't as bad with the constant updating of NU news and how beneficial and lucky I am to belong to the North Texas Nebraskans. Go Big Red!!!
