A.K.A: Lucian Roberts DOB: 6/5/70 Hometown: Bloomfield, New Jersey Personal: 5'11" 240lbs. - I've been told by a few people that I bear a striking resemblance to Dan "Manimal" Alexander. I don't think I look quite as intimidating as Big Dan but I would love to have his 40 time and performance index numbers. Occupation: Self-employed. I also work in mdedia as a national research analyst E-mail: [email protected] Non-Husker hobbies: reading, classical music, hockey, basketball, weightlifting, women who like corn and look good in red.
Favorite Huskers (Offense): Turner Gill - conversion shy of greatest season ever Tommie Frazier - most confident Husker in my generation Cory Schleshinger - last guy I would like to play against in practice Ahman Green - I thought he was better then LP Irving Fryar - made big plays when we need them
Favorite Blackshirts: Grant Wistrom - relentless worker who put fear in QB's Mike Brown - angel off the field, devil on it Jared Tomich - just a mean dude on the field Jason Peter - Jersey kid made a great Blackshirt Trev Alberts - maybe the best blackshirt ever?
Favorite Husker moment: Local product Mike Rozier being praised by the NJ faithful after destroying the overrated defense of local favorite Penn State in the inaugural Kickoff Classic at the Meadowlands. I can't begin to describe how disappointed I am that this game will no longer exist.
My feelings about "the system": Coach Devaney set a standard back in the '60s that every football player that wears Scarlet and Cream must exemplify. We expect our athletes to be great students as well as great athletes, and we've been quite fortunate to find some special people that have represented the school and the state of Nebraska very well all around the country.
What the Huskers mean to me: Nebraska football is the essence of American sports. A true sports enthusiast like me knows the difference between hype and history. This is why there is such a tremendous national following for Nebraska. Even though I wasn't born in Nebraska I still feel a bond with the school because of what people like Tom Osborne and Brook Berringer believe in. I also love the in-your-face style of play the Huskers use that makes them unique, especially in today's game. College football has progressed in several different ways (not all of them good as we all know), bu the Huskers haven't changed very much (you know what we're going to do, here we come, just try and stop us). |
