brighter with time
Nebraska football can be described as many things to many people but here, it is really a way of life. It is not, just the fact that we do not have any major professional sports, although that does have something to do with it,Nebraska simply is "The Huskers".
For about 100 years, we have celebrated our teams, coaches, and the players.The Huskers, win or lose will always be the staple of what Nebraska is all about.Work ethics, dedication, and a striving to be better even in the face of exellence.It definitely does not hurt, that the team has been tremedously successful,holding records in numerous categories.
The one record, that I think typifies the loyalty and belief the Husker faithful have, is the continuing NCAA standard of consecutive home sell-outs, starting way back in 1962. More consecutive sell-outs then anyone ever.
We love our team and the tradition that has made it so special.

Also, I have my own poetic tribute to Coach Osborne.
I wrote this, after I had heard that he was going to retire.
It in a small way, chronolgically streams his career and some of the more
pivotal events during his tenure.

Hoist it high Coach! After what most Nebraska fans considered to be a "disaster", that being the 9-4 campaign of last year, Solich more then redeems himself and the team with a 12-1 finish and a victory of the Tennessee Volunteer in the Fiesta Bowl.
Overcoming the "soap opera" of the early season, Coach Solich more the proved he has what it takes to, not only be at this level, but compete successfully.
If not for the rampant fumbelities, that followed Nebraska the entire year, the Huskers would surely have been playing in the Sugar for the Sears Trophy.
Congratulations Coach!
