Lived in Omaha for 40 years before promotion relocated my family in the middle of the Ozarks.

Favorite players:

Jeff Kinney - always tough yards
Rich Glover - all defense
Wayne Meylan - tough
Mark Shelen - devastating blocker, underrated runner
Turner Gill - great leader
Trev Alberts - start of the great rush end tradition
Tommie Frazier - would not allow his team to lose
Grant Wistrom - a winner at every level - not enough fingers for all his rings
Mike Brown - did he ever miss a tackle?

Favorite Husker games:

62 vs South Dakota - my first Husker game
71 NU vs OU - game of the century, still
78 vs OU - what a feeling in the crowd
95 Orange Bowl vs Miami - great 4th quarter
96 Fiesta Bowl vs Florida - what dominance - still see Christian Peter running the length of the field

What being a Husker means to me:

I cannot remember ever not being a Husker fan. Listening to Lyle Bremser during the Pre-Devaney years, almost expecting the worse each week. After Bob - his excitement every Saturday, a change in attitude with him and throughout the whole state.

The pride of being a Big Red fan is only something that can be experienced by a true NU fan. People in Missouri cannot understand how a NU fan can be so avid. When I wear my NU coat or sweatshirt or t-shirt, people certainly take notice, almost with envy. I am also proud of the fact that I have converted 7 or 8 native MO's to the NU bandwagon.

Reading the BC board every day, I have found that this happens all ove rthe U.S. NU fans are the greatest in the country.
