HuskerAL:"We have season tickets---purchase them from a 94 year old man. They are great tickets, but we don't have too much time left and tickets and no longer be willed to anyone outside of direct family. So we probably won't go to as many home games somewhere down the line.

Hopefully the Huskers will continue to be on TV---most of the games. In any case, we come down here to Arizona from December to May 15th or so and return to Huskerland then.

We(my wife and I) work out with Mark Schellen, who is a personal trainer in Waterloo. You probably know he played FB for the Huskers in
82/83---and still claims the fastest FB 40 time. He weighed in at about 235lbs. in those days----and goes about 270 now. He is a world class weight lifter now and is going for a 500lbs. bench press this year---as a personal goal. He is a Big Husker fan---as you can imagine--and was really glad---as we were---when DeAngelo left the program. We all felt the team turned the corner about then, and the results speak for themselves.

Personally, I am an Omaha boy graduated from Central High way back when. Most of our kids when to Westside before we moved to some other states. We have always been and always will be Big Red fans, as will all our kids, who are scattered everywhere(Ohio, Texas). We do have a Lincoln connection,--daughter and family live there. We get some Husker info from Son-in Law who has friends close to the coaches and team, so sometimes that is helpful. But not always.

The greatest Big Red moment of our lives is when we beat Miami in the Orange Bowl for the National Championship. We were with several thousand fans in the south end zone---men and women openly weeping tears of joy and relief. We had finally got the monkey off our backs. Finally beat the "Home Town Advantage" the Florida teams have enjoyed so long. Finally we won a bowl game after so many heart breaks. We were there and we felt all the other Husker fans were there, in spirit, if not in person. It was awesome.

So, as I wind down this little bio of a Big Red fan, I leave you with this: A few lost(heaven forbid)games, and a few lost recruits, will not and cannot dampen our Husker Spirit. We remain Husker Fans for life. And when we bleed, we bleed Red. GBR!!!
