A.K.A: Nile Kemble Born: Fremont, Nebraska Raised: Lincoln, Nebraska Current Residence: Columbia, Missouri Occupation: Research Fisheries Biologist E-mail: [email protected]
Favorite Husker: Wayne Meyland - Not sure why this was the case, but figure , why change now.
Favorite Husker moment: There are three (at least three that stand out)
First - the closing seconds of the OU game in 1978 watching Memorial Stadium explode in joy as we finally beat the Sooners
Second - The game at MU in 1997. Was sitting in the northeast corner of the stadium, the endzone in which Davison made his "miracle" catch in with my two oldest kids and dad. Talk about a stadium that went from being a buzz and ready to explode (similar to memorial stadium after the game mentioned above) to a stadium so quiet you cold hear a pin drop (with the exception of we Husker faithful whooping and hollering). Was by no means the most exciting college football game I have ever watched.
Third - Watch Tom Osborne get his much due (overdue) victory ride after the 1995 Orange Bowl.
What the Huskers mean to me: They simply are college football at it's finest. It's one of those things you can't explain. Unless you are from Nebraska and grew up with the Huskers, it's a feeling, a bonding to the team you just don't understand. |
