No Citizens Left Behind Bill
Keeping in line with the Bush Administration's stance on education, I would like to put forth the following proposal for Citizenship:
- International performance standards for governments, politicians, corporations, and corporate executives which they must meet or lose tax support from their citizens
- Performance standards for politicians and corporate executives based on international requirements and testing programs
- Flexible Citizenship - Citizens may choose their city, state, and country based on how well those institutions perform. Example: A citizen living in Groton, Connecticut may choose to pay taxes to the city of San Francisco, the State of Vermont, and the nation of Canada. That citizen would be entitled to be married even if gay and have national healthcare. The City of Groton, the State of Connecticut, and the United States would be required to provide those same rights and services or lose tax revenues.
- Flexible employment - citizens who now work for one company may continue in their present job but choose to be employed by an employer that provides the best benefits. Inotherwords, a citizen may outsource his or her company or corporation. That company will be required to increase benefits or lose government funding.
- Corporations and Governments will be required to pay Citizens the same benefits as top executives and top government officials receive.
- Citizens will pay their taxes to those governments that provide the best best services, and work for companies and corporations that provide the best working conditions and benefits.
- Those governments, companies, and corporations that fall short of performance goals based on internationally determined outcomes will be given up to one year to reform or be taken over by an international governing body charged with implementing the necessary reforms.
- All citizens of the world will have equal rights, equal access to education, equal access to healthcare, and equal freedom from government interference in their personal lives.
These measures will encourage fair and open competition between governments and corporations, improving their services while reducing their operating costs.
