Comments:
The Worms battled back to score 5 runs in the fifth inning and 5 more in the sixth for an 18-17 victory. Trailing 17-13 in the bottom of the sixth, Larry Wortham lead off with a fly ball out. Randy Cain then started the rally with a single. Jason Wilson was safe on an error by the second baseman, and Mike Wortham followed with a single to load the bases. Bubba Tipton hit a ground ball to short. Instead of going to second for the easy play, he opted to go to third, but the third baseman was not ready. Cain scored, and the bases were still loaded. David Rohr singled to left to score Wilson, and the bases remained loaded. Greg Goebel also singled to left to score Wortham. The bases were still loaded for Terry Fabian, hitless in the game until this point. Fabian singled to left to score Tipton, tying the game. The leftfielder made an overthrown into the infield, scoring Rohr to win the game. Greg Goebel was 4 for 5 in the game, and Ken Washington was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, a walk, and 3 RBI.
