During Trial Reflection (Ralph)

Right now I am very nervous, much more than I expected I would be. The court has just started and the defense of Jack are making their opening statements. From what I am hearing they are very convincing, I mean if I was not present on the island, they way they are saying things could easily push the jury in any which way. On the other hand, as I listened to the opening statements of the opposite side they are also very good. It seems that they have both done their work and it will b a hard choice for the jury, which make me worry, because I want to see jack be punished. He killed a good friend of mine, plain and simple.

As the defense of Jack is calling witness to the stand it make me worried. For they keep on bringing up the subject of Simons death, a death in which I did take part off. That aspect is the main aspect that drives me crazy. Which is my one fault, the one thing that I can conceive that they will be able to use against me. But they even know jack should be punished. Ok I am about to be called.

I was questioned and asked many questions but none of Simon where asked to me. Which is a positive sign. The only thing that they were bale to do as a surprise was get me to say that jack accomplished more as a leader than me. By their indicative reverse questioning and short simple, straight to the point questions, they got the phrase, "yes jack did accomplished more than I did" out of me. After that they ended their question and the jury was left with that final thought. Something I was not too fond off. But I am still confident that the jury not be blinded by lies but see through them to the truth.

Right now I am looking at Jack and try to think what he is thinking about. What does he think of me? Does he care what happens to him? For jack seems to be the only person in the court room that is relaxed, the most relaxed. For I fill with mixed emotions some of which are mind blowing. So the time has come. The jury has left the room to make the decision. The decision that will put to rest what has happened on the island. They will make the decision if a murder of cold blood should walk to the streets or stay locked up. Ok here they are:

"We the jury, find Jack Guilty of all charges."
