A R L E T T EMerry Xmas
All the stars above and the planets too Will always shine bright just for you For you're forever with beauty endowed And your gentle words, soft and ne'er loud Speak to the heart and to the soul of man Like a lark winging its song o'er the glen. R<oses and violets, pansies and daffodils Fill your secret garden with a fragrance That makes even angels swoon and fills The heart with the joy of sweet dalliance. Scents of paradise, of youth ever-lasting Of sweet songs on angels' harp humming. Lile a mountain stream in early Spring Briskly flowing in the crisp morning air To the tired heart soothing waters you bring And the cloudy days with a smile make fair. The sky above mirrors the magnificence Of the nature that you adorn with innocence. Eternity is to be sought in the way you talk Ever so wisely of the need there is to walk In lightness in the sacret footsteps of the Divine With muted tongue on griefs that make us pine Bearing all without as much as a sigh of regret While others with bated breath pant and fret. Tender is the night when your presence is felt Which with auric warmth as if by magic melt The confining shackles of my ice-bound mind That with the years passing are inclined to bind Me to a past that dazzled like birds of Paradise When I dared to dream that my star would rise. The years go by annd with them our joys and woes. The flowers bloom for a season and they too die. The birds, sing as they may, and as our life goes Must one day, alas! stop singing and no more fly! Sadly, long after we're gone, the sun will yet rise And shine on an earth forever closed to our eyes. Every light is a harbinger of the darkness that is As darkness itself holds in it the promise of dawn. The storm that rages sooner or later surely ceases And frightful night is followed by peaceful morn. Such is in my innermost being the sweet serenity That pacifies my soul as it feeds on your inner beauty! Claudio Wye
