Moongate Supper Club

On Monday evening, January 6, between twenty and twenty-five Moongate residents attended the first organizational meeting of the Moongate Supper Club.  They decided that they would like a regular break from cooking, overwhelmingly agreeing not to have potlucks but to share evening meals served to them.  Depending upon the schedule of the caterer(s), the tentative timing for the shared meals will be the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the All Purpose Room.  Of course, residents could also arrange for other meals on other days, if they wish.  A meal ticket, purchased in advance, will be required to attend each meal.  The tickets will be non-refundable, but could be given or sold to another Moongate resident if you discover that you could not attend the meal.

As Moongate residents requested, Bill Werner has arranged with the following caterers to meet with you on Monday, January 13, at 7:00 p.m. in the All Purpose Room to make presentations and answer your questions about such things as menu choices, costs, and the minimum number of meals required:

·       Al Smith’s Place - Jim Myers - (419-531-0600)

·       Boston Market - Sue Kapff or Jim Koralewski - ( 419-478-2241)

·       H. J.’s Prime Cut - Dee High - (419-476-1738)

·       Memories Banquet Hall - Mary Danielak and Doug Eisenmann - (847-6830)

After the caterers have made their presentations and answered your questions, it will be up to you to make the following decisions:

·       Which caterer or caterers do you want to use?

·       Do you want the regularly scheduled meals to be on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m.?

·       Who will work with the caterers to decide upon the menu for each meal and then notify Colleen to include in the monthly Moongate Messenger the dates and menus for the meals, ticket prices, and deadlines for ticket purchases?

·       Who will plan and arrange any other meals, such as individual chicken or fish dinners from Zeilers (847-8029), which must be picked up, or pizza delivered from Hungry Howie’s (419-474-2800)?

Plan on joining the discussion on Monday, January 13, at 7:00 p.m. in the All Purpose Room.  If you intend to take notes, remember to bring pen and paper.
