8 July 2005: It seemed time for me to starting playing around at Paint Shop again, for I haven't made a new paint shop mathemaku in months. I was beginning to worry I might never get another one started, in fact. Mathemakuist's block? Thinking about that, I realized I ought to try the tactic I was selling people in my workshop: make a collage out of things cut out of newspapers, then work up images, verbal or otherwise, to turn it inot a long division poem. So, A while ago, I pulled some pieces of cut-up newspapers out of the very bag of them I've brought to my recent workshops, and cut a few shapes out. These I arranged randomly on my glass of my scanner and copied to Paint Shop. I liked the look of part of the result, so used it as the basis of the following:

I don't consider the result a visual poem although there are actual words in it. I do consider quite appealing, who knows why. I hope to get a mathemaku out of it, but am not sure what else I'll be adding. Probably, the word, "aspirations," because it was the only word I liked that occurred to me last night for possible use in a mathemaku.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Dennis approacheth, but I'm pretty much ignoring it. If my entries stop for a while, though, you'll know why.
