8 May 2005: Below are the last two artworks I'm going to post from the issue of ARTnews that "Trojan Horse" was in. The top one is simply labeled illumagery. If one must call it a "visual poem," logic would seem to me to dictate that one call all forms of newspaper cartoons, comic strips, and the like, visual poems. Architectural drawings? The one at the bottom is a depiction of text with labels. Like "Trojan Horse," it is entirely textual. But it seems to me in no way any kind of poem, nor intended to be. It's an illumagistica rendering of a wall on which a sign has been painted, with commentary added--or a labled illumage.
