27 February 2005: This morning I finally finished the first frame of my dyptich:
I don't have much to say about it except that I think that my final version (if I keep it the way it is) is substantially richer than my divisor/quotient/dividend version. But I grant that it's less accessible, and has lost the nice instancy it had. I'm not sure it works, either--and I did think the austere version was effective.

I hope to finish its companion piece later today or sometime tomorrow, but don't feel ready to tackle it at the moment.
