Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

29 January 2005:

Don't ask me. I was just fooling around at Paint Shop again, this time with what I'm calling the first off-frame of the "Long Division of Poetry by Beauty." I think the result interesting but I don't know whether it's worth adding to my sequence or not. It suggests ways to go but doesn't seem itself a way to go. What keeps me from accepting it as more than a sketch is that I can't explicitly state what it does. Ripples, yeah, and it's pretty, too, I think, but what is the point of it?
